Summary

This study was conducted to know the scholastic achievement level

of Grade 12 Senior High School Students in St. John’s Cathedral School.

It specifically determines if the profile of the respondents has something

to do with their scholastic achievement level. The researchers conducted

a survey to know the profile of the respondents and to compare their

grades with Singaporean Grading Scale System.

This study used a quantitative method to identify the scholastic

achievement level of the respondents. The researchers used a survey

questionnaire in order to know the findings. The study seeks to answer if

the respondents profile has something to do with their scholastic

achievement level and to determine if the General Average of the Grade

12 Students in St. John’s Cathedral School will meet the standards from

their counterpart which is the Singaporean Grading Scale System.

Based on the result of the study, in the data gathered by the

researchers, majority of the Grade 12 Senior High School Students in St.

John’s Cathedral School is at the age of 18. There are 142 Grade 12

Senior High School Students but male students are more dominant with

a total number of 74 and the female students are only 68 in the total

population. In the Annual Family Income, most students have an annual

family income of Php. 15,000.00 – below. In the final general average

grades of the respondents, many students are qualified within the letter

grade as B Good which is equivalent to 83 – 86 in the Numerical Scores

of the Singaporean Grading Scale System.

It is recommended therefore that students should exert more effort

in their academics to increase their scholastic achievement level.

Teachers should do their best to teach the lessons properly to the

students in order for them to understand it very well. Parents should give

motivation, inspiration and support to their children in order for them to

be motivated and inspired to study hard as strongly recommended by the

researchers.
