At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
1. Identify when each punctuation marks is needed
2. Differentiate between common punctuation marks
3. Demonstrate understanding of punctuation marks through correct usage.
B. Activity / Strategy
- The class will be divided into three (3) groups
- Each group need to discuss in front the use of the three punctuation marks
C. Analysis
- What is the use for comma (,)?
- What is the use of colon (:)?
- What is the use of semicolon (;)?
D. Abstraction / Presentation
The teacher will:
- Explain the rules of the three punctuation marks.
- The teacher will elicit ideas and examples from the students.
- See page 24-25
E. Application
- Ask the students to do the language workshop on page 24
- The students will read the letter and need to put the correct punctuation.
Generalization:
We need to see punctuation as a friend. A friend that helps you gets your point across by making your
writing, spelling and meaning clear to the reader.
