Notes: This radio is extremely susceptible to damage during scrambler installation due to the small
parts and delicate pads. Midian shall not be responsible for any damage to the radio resulting from
scrambler installation. It is advised not to attempt this installation unless the installer has past
experience working with 0402 size parts.

Notes:

1. Remove C-479 to break the RX audio path.

2. Remove C-481 to break the TX audio path.

3. If an external speaker mic is being used then PTT In needs to be connected at the junction of C-713 & J-400 Pin-
39, which is the PTT rail voltage. For the UHF version you may also use the junction of R-314 & C-328. For the
VHF version you may also use the junction of C-3205, R-3200 & Q-3721 Pin-4. Both points are labeled in the
Service Manual as (R5, RX Rail Voltage).

4. The binary select switch starts in the channel 1 position with all lines high, which corresponds to code 16 of the
VPU-12. In the channel 16 position all lines are low which corresponds to code 1.

5. This application supports the Motorola EX-600, GP-338 Plus, GP-388, PRO-7150 Elite.
