DepEd Order No. 50 series of 2005 states that the implementation of Citizenship Advancement Training (CAT) formerly known as Citizen Army Training as mandatory. It is a
requirement for all male and female senior secondary students and is composed of four components namely, Community Service, Military orientation, Public safety and law
enforcement. The requirements of this course are the completion of any of the components or a combination of the four components for a period of 35 hours during the school year. It
aims to enhance student’s social responsibility and commitment to the development of the communities and develop their ability to uphold law and order as they assume active
participation in community activities and in assisting the members of the community especially in times of emergencies. CAT will be rated on a Pass-Fail Basis. The computation of the
student’s grade will be reflected in the class record of the teacher using the following criteria as basis for passing or failing. Periodic Test 25%, Quizzes 10%, Participation/Performance
40%, and Output/ Project 25% with a total of 100%.
