CAUSE
More damage is done by planes, than by
cars in creating the greenhouse effect,
because they actually expel copious
exhaust fumes close to the ozone layer. I
cannot be the only one to realize this.
Have these facts been kept under wraps
for commercial reasons? Globalization &
commercialism have a lot to answer for.
The policy to build additional runways and
increase air-traffic pollution, whilst
reducing road traffic pollution is difficult to
comprehend.
SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS
o Planes (private & commercial)
should either be taxed per length
of plane journey, or per day. (A
special air-pollution charge might
already be the case; if so, it should
be increased, so cheap air-travel is
a thing of the past).
o Additional runways & airports
should NOT be built
o Airlines should be encouraged to
restrict weekly usage to 1-2 days
less than usual
o The ideal solution would be for all
air-travel (including military use,
but excluding rescue helicopters in
real emergencies) to be stopped
for a year. After 9/11, air travel
was stopped in the US & people,
who reside near airports,
commented on the lack of noise &
air pollution

o        The worst damage to the
ozone layer, is done by space-
craft & rockets delivering
satellites, which actually force
their way through the ozone
layer.
o        Damage to the atmosphere &
stratosphere in the past has

until the ozone layer has repaired
itself.

used. These should be utilized
more efficiently. No more should
be launched until the ozone layer

Developing countries are allowed to
create industrial pollution, despite the
damage it is doing, so they can
produce ridiculously-cheap goods for
western nations. The underlying
culprit is commercialism and
globalisation.
The racing of cars, motorbikes, mini-
bikes, all-terrain vehicles, etc. also add
to air pollution.
Bonfires & firework displays cause
huge smoke clouds and the following
day is usually overcast and drab as a
result.
Traffic Congestion, Air Pollution, Global Warming & The Ozone Layer
 We all have a responsibility towards our planet.
 Few realize the full implications of our actions and this applies when we
create pollution.
 The initial resentment and public debate will raise long-term awareness if
a pollution tax is imposed
 The sun cannot send and receive energy, if a polluted haze blocks the
sun's rays from reaching Earth properly
o No country should be allowed to
create industrial pollution
o Westerners must be made aware
of the real cost of cheap goods
from developing countries (in
human terms & the levels of
pollution, etc.) & the West must be
made to care.
o Developing countries should be
encouraged to use their traditional
methods to produce goods. Any
developing country, which does so,
should become a World Heritage
site, helped by wealthier countries
in a positive way.  Developing
countries should have modern
cities if they wish, but the
countryside, the wildlife, the culture
and the diversity must be
treasured and maintained
o Fair trade prices should be paid to
them & the western world should
stop taking advantage of their
poverty, but should treasure their
cultural heritage.
o An air pollution tax should be
introduced for such vehicles during
practice runs & races.
o Bonfires should be discouraged
o Firework displays should be
licensed for safety & to control
numbers of fireworks
o Sales to individuals should be
banned
 The Earth's wobbly orbit could be the result of air pollution and our
important link with the sun being inadequate
