Chennai, November 16, 2010: TiECON CHENNAI 2010, TiE Chennai’s flagship annual
event and Tamil Nadu’s largest ever conference for entrepreneurs is being held on
November 24, 2010 at the Chennai Convention Centre. The event represents a breathtaking
array of networking and business opportunities along with energizing and thought provoking
keynote addresses and panel discussions. The event, being inaugurated by N Sankar,
Chairman, Sanmar Group, will see well known business leaders like Kanwal Rekhi,
Gurucharan Das and Ajit Balakrishnan among others, delivering power-packed content,
designed to be inspirational as well as practical. It is estimated that close to 1500
entrepreneurs and business students are expected to attend what is now an integral part of
an entrepreneur’s annual calendar of must-attend events.

TiECON CHENNAI 2010 has an exciting theme “money-Money-MONEY” which would

bring to focus various aspects of enterprises/entrepreneurs getting ready to raise money,
finding the money, getting the money and even surviving without money – all topics that
are close to the heart of entrepreneurs.
Parallel tracks that cater to different interest groups, have also been planned, in an
innovative format:
 • A panel discussion on the “Opportunities in Education” with
proven leaders from this sector sharing their formulae for success;
• “Unnaal Mudiyum Thambi” – panel discussion in Tamil, moderated by Y.Gee.

driven event, with multiple tracks to cater to different interest groups.

“TiE Chennai Entrepreneur Awards”, Tamil Nadu’s most prestigious entrepreneurial

awards for 2010, will be presented across eight categories, including Entrepreneur of the
Year, Social Entrepreneur of the Year and Life-time Achievement Award. In addition, Kanwal
Rekhi & Ajit Balakrishnan will preside over the prize distribution function of the LIBA-TiE
Chennai-EDI-NEN Business Plan competition.
