A- WHAT IS SYNCSING ?

SyncSing is an application and a Web service for managing, storing, and sharing songs and for
a unique accompaniment in musical practice.

B- WHAT IS IT FOR ?

Say goodbye to bulky, heavy, inconvenient songbooks.

Now, just download the free application, create an account, and SyncSing will help you
manage and carry all of your songs (music, lyrics and chords) so you can play them anywhere,
alone or with other SyncSingers. Because the great part about SyncSing is its community
dimension: sharing your musical repertoire with your friends by invitation or synchronization.

C- WHY A WEB ACCOUNT (MY SYNCSING) AND AN

APPLICATION ?

A personalized, secure My SyncSing Web interface to let you store and administer your entire
music library from any Internet-connected computer by simply accessing your account using
your identifiers and password. It is a Web interface for sharing your playlists and songs.

An application to play, carry and share your entire songbook collection on your iPhone or iPod
Touch. This application will act as a lead tool and accompaniment for your rehearsals or
musical performances.

D- WHAT REQUIRED CONFIGURATIONS TO USE

SYNCSING ?

The SyncSing application is compatible with the iPhone or iPod Touch and requires the iPhone
3.0 operating system.

The Web service is available for Windows, Linux and Mac.

Once your SyncSing application is downloaded on the App Store, you must register
and open a My SyncSing account to use it. There are several ways to create a My
SyncSing account: directly from your iPhone or iPod Touch application or on the
www.syncsing.com Web site under [MY SYNCSING].

A- CREATING MY ACCOUNT FROM THE INTERNET SITE

To create your My SyncSing account from the Web site:

1- Click on [MY SYNCSING] in the browser menu.

B- CREATING MY ACCOUNT FROM MY IPHONE OR

IPOD TOUCH

To create your My SyncSing account from your iPhone or iPodTouch, go to [Preferences] then
[ID] to select your desired registration mode.

A- FIRST TIME

On your first connection, your My SyncSing account will appear empty without any
musical information.

B- MY PLAYLISTS

You may add, delete and modify your playlists in your My SyncSing space.

The playlists are for storing songs in lists. To create your playlist in your My SyncSing account,
click on the “add a playlist” button in the [LIBRARY] column.

C- MY SONGS

1- Add my music scores

To add titles to your My SyncSing space, you may either select one of your playlists
from [MY PLAYLISTS] or you may import a song directly.

Once one of these operations is made, the “New song” popup will open with a browsing menu.

4 tabs: Properties, Lyrics, Files and Display.

[Properties]
Type in the name of the song, the name of the performer, and your comments (if necessary)

[Lyrics]
This is where you will enter the lyrics and chords for your songs. You may either type in or cut
& paste the lyrics and chords or else import them directly using the “Search” feature and
clicking on “OK” to save them.

If you type directly into the capture zone, you may fill in the chords as follows:
Type in the chords on the line just above the corresponding lyrics. Position them by inserting
spaces between the chords so they are correctly placed according to the corresponding lyrics,
like in this example:

NB: you may also use ChordPro format to enter the lyrics and chords. In this format, the
chords are typed in brackets [ ] between the lyrics at the place where they are played.

Once this information is found and imported, click on “OK” to automatically insert it into the
lyrics capture zone

If you have any doubts on which capture mode to use for your lyrics and chords, you can
consult the “Help” feature in this popup.

[Files]
This is where you import your files and link them to your songs. Click on “download” and follow
the guide. Once you have finished importing, you can use and share the files with your
Friends.
By clicking on “Import from iTunes” you can easily import a piece of music from your iTunes
library.

NB: file sharing is only possible by sharing the song. It is not possible to only share a file.

[Display]
This is where you view the results, once you have completed the previous steps: the lyrics,
chords and music scores for your song are displayed and you can listen to the attached audio
files (MP3).

3- Linking, Duplicating and Deleting your songs

Duplicating and deleting your songs

1- Select the song or songs you want to delete or duplicate by checking off the appropriate
box.

2- Click on “Duplicate” or “Delete” depending on what you want to do.

1- Select the song or songs you want to put in your playlists by checking the appropriate box.

D- MY FRIENDS

1- My SyncSing Friends

Your SyncSing Friends are your friends who share certain music files and songs with
you. Your SyncSing Friends are your Facebook Friends if you connect to My SyncSing
from your Facebook account.

Inviting My SyncSing Friends

From your iPhone or iPodTouch under [Mode] select “Master” on the “Group mode” tab. A page
will open with a session number. Note this number and give it to your Friends who want to join
the session.
They should click on “Guest” under the [Mode] option on their application and type in this
session number. Once this operation is complete, they will be automatically registered on your
SyncSing Friends list on your My SyncSing Web account.

NB1: Group mode requires Internet access and works on Wifi, 3G and Edge.
NB 2: the session number is repeated on the gray strips separating the stanzas on the song
lyrics display page.

Sharing my Playlists with my SyncSing Friends

1- Select the friend with whom you 2- Select the playlist or playlists you want to

2- My Facebook Friends

These are your Facebook Friends. Your list of Facebook Friends is automatically filled
in when you connect to SyncSing from your Facebook account. You can invite them
to discover SyncSing and share your music scores with them directly on the Web site
from your My SyncSing account.

Inviting my Facebook Friends to use SyncSing

Once you have saved your songs and organized them into playlists, you will definitely want to
share them! The whole purpose of this application is to be able to share and use them on an
iPhone or iPod.
To invite your Facebook Friends to download the SyncSing program and use it:

An invitation will be sent from the Facebook message service to your Friends asking them to
accept. Your Facebook Friends will become your SyncSing Friends once they have registered
with SyncSing through their Facebook account.

Sharing my playlists with my Facebook Friends

Once they have the SyncSing application on their iPod Touch or iPhone or once they have
created a My SyncSing account, you can invite them to share your playlists. To do this, just
follow the procedure explained in Sharing my playlists with my SyncSing Friends page
24.

NB1: point 1, to be activated so that you can immediately be identified after, automatic
recognition of your first and last names requires initial registration for the application from
your iPhone or iPod Touch.

NB2: point 4 is not active when you have not imported your music library from your My
SyncSing Web account.

[Group Mode] is a SyncSing feature that lets you play and share your music with your Friends.
You may choose either the “Master” or “Guest” mode, depending on whether you are directing
the rehearsal or one of your Friends is, who also has the SyncSing application.

NB: When you choose “Master” mode, you direct the rehearsal and you control all of your
guests’ iPod Touch or iPhones (automatic synchronization with the iPod Touch and iPhones).
The Master can also designate a guest to act as a “page turner” by clicking on the person’s
name. As a “page turner” the role of the guest will be to select the song and scroll the pages
onto all of the iPod Touch iPhones. All the “page turner” has to do to give control back to the
Master is click on him or her.

NB: During the rehearsal or group play, the pages will automatically scroll down by automatic
synchronization with the “Master” SyncSinger instructions in iPod Touch and iPhones.

THE SYNCSING APPLICATION

Screen features [Preferences]

The [Guest, synchronized] mode lets you define the songs you want to synchronize with your
Guests.
Two choices:
- By selecting “All” you synchronize the song playing and its scrolling.
- By selecting “Songs” you only synchronize the song playing but not its scrolling.

The [Chords language] mode lets you set your chords in “International” or “French” systems.

Help: This button gives you information on the application and the different feature settings in
[Preferences].

The Motion Sensor or Motion Detection gives you access to the motion detection settings. The
motion detector lets you turn the pages with one touch: auto scrolling.

NB: Attention: sometimes the songs are in the list of files attached to your song but appear in
gray highlight. This means that your file is on the server but that it has not yet been
downloaded onto your application.

NB: Your musical repertoire corresponds to the list of songs you have saved in your My
SyncSing account. This is not your music library that is on your iPhone or iPodTouch.

3- Type “OK” once you have finished, to return to the screen with the list of your songs.

NB1: Your song is now deleted from the playlist but not from your song base.
NB2: If you want to delete your entire musical repertoire from your application, click on
