Drive iQ Mascot competition – Official Rules!

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.


1. PROMOTION DESCRIPTION: The Drive iQ Mascot competition (“Competition”) is a
Competition that begins on 1/12/10 and open to submissions until 28/02/11 at 16:00 PM.
Applicants must be aged 25 and under. The three finalists will be determined by a
qualified judging panel comprised of Drive iQ representatives and uploaded to an
album on the Drive iQ Facebook page on 07/03/11. The winner will be determined by
public voting through the amount of „likes‟ each finalist receives. Voting ends on
21/03/11 at 12:00 PM and the Winner is announced. Dates and times may be subject to
change and in the unlikely event of any changes these will be stated on the Drive iQ
Facebook page.

The details of entry Submission, voting and winner selection are described in further detail
below.

2. HOW TO ENTER: To enter, register free on Facebook (if you‟re not already registered) and
“LIKE” the Drive iQ Facebook Page online at www.facebook.com/DriveiQ. Follow
directions on the Competition tab. In order to submit an entry in the Competition, you
must be aged 25 and under and “LIKE” the Drive iQ Facebook Page. Indicating that you
“LIKE” the Drive iQ Facebook Page is free. All entries must include image of the Mascot
and personality description.

You may submit an entry (including your Name, email address and telephone number) in
any of the following formats:

A) Email Submission: Send your mascot to mascot@driveiq.co.uk. (Max file size

B) Post Submission: Post your mascot to „Drive iQ Mascot‟, Ramsden Grange,


Hambledon Road, Busbridge, Surrey, GU7 1XQ.

Entrants may not participate with multiple e-mail addresses, nor may entrants use any
device to enter as multiple entrants. Any entrant who attempts to enter with multiple e-
mail addresses or under multiple identities will be disqualified from participation in the
Competition and all entries submitted by that entrant will be void.

Entries must be the original work of the entrant, never been previously published, must
not infringe on any third party rights, and may not include content which is offensive,
violent or suggested violence, derogatory, sexually suggestive or offensive, obscene,
defamatory, explicit language or imagery. No other manufacturers‟ products are
permitted in any submission. No copyrighted music, trademarks, brands, or other
intellectual property not owned by entrant may be used in the entry.

By entering the Competition, the entrant gives Sponsor the right to use, edit, or publish
the entry without further compensation and winner assigns all rights, title and interest in
the submission to the Sponsor, and, if required, will sign any documents necessary to
transfer copyright and rights of publicity. Submission of an entry further constitutes the
entrant‟s consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to Sponsor any all rights, title and
interest in the entry, including, without limitation, all copyrights and rights of publicity.
Winner may have to certify in writing that his/her entry was original and produced by the
entrant and no other person or entity holds rights to entry. All entry materials become the
property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor is not responsible for any change
of email address, mailing address and/or phone number of entrants. No automated
entry devices, bots and/or other programs and/or software are permitted for entry.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible,
misdirected, technically corrupted or garbled entries, which will be disqualified, or for
problems of any kind, whether mechanical, human or electronic. Only fully completed
entries are eligible unless decided otherwise by judging panel.

3. ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the United Kingdom who are 25 years of age or
under at the time of entry. Employees of Drive iQ, its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising,
promotion and other agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living
in the same household of each are not eligible to participate.

4. FINALIST SELECTION: Three finalists will be chosen out of all entries by the Drive iQ judging
panel whose decisions are final and binding, based on the following judging criteria:
originality and creativity of the idea, practicality of executing the idea and overall
appropriateness. The three (3) Finalists‟ mascots will be posted into an album on the
Drive iQ Facebook page for public voting via Facebook „LIKES‟. Finalists will be uploaded
on 07/03/11 and voting will commence as soon as finalists are uploaded.

5. WINNING MASCOT SELECTION: During the Final voting phase, the public will vote on their
favourite Mascot. In order to submit a vote in this Competition, you must register on
Facebook (if you‟re not already registered) and “LIKE” the Drive iQ Facebook Page.
Submit your vote by „Liking‟ your favourite mascot. The Winning Mascot will be the entry
with the most „LIKES‟ on 21/03/11 at 12:00 PM. Winner will be notified on the Drive iQ
Facebook page and by email and/or phone.

6. PRIZE AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (ARV): One (1) Prize – One winner of 1 Apple ipad
with WiFi 16GB. ARV of Prize – up to £429.

7. GENERAL: Winner will be initially contacted by email/phone and will have forty-eight (48)
hours from first attempt to accept or decline the prize. If unable to contact potential
winner within forty eight (48) hours of first attempted notification, prize will be forfeited
and an alternate potential winner will be selected. After verbal acceptance of prize,
potential winner (if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) will be required to sign a
contract of acceptance stating that they have received and accepted the prize. If prize
notification or prize is returned as non-deliverable, prize may be forfeited and an
alternate winner may be selected as provided in these Official Rules. Once finalists have
been chosen, finalists will be sent and required to sign and return a notarized Affidavit of
Eligibility/Liability Release whereas the documents would be in effect contingent on the
Finalist being selected as the Winner.

No correspondence will be acknowledged. No cash equivalents, substitutions or transfer


of prize permitted except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or
greater value in the event that an offered prize is unavailable. Subject to all federal, state
and local laws/regulations. Neither Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising,
promotion agencies nor their employees will have any liability whatsoever for any injuries,
losses or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance,
possession, use and/or misuse of any prize or participation in the Competition or any
prize-related activities. Acceptance of a prize shall be construed as and signify the
winner‟s agreement and consent that Sponsor may use the winner‟s name, voice,
likeness and/or prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without
further consideration, review, approval or payment, where allowed by law. By
participating in this Competition, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and
the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. Sponsor is not
responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration
of the Competition or in the announcement of the prize.

8. INTERNET: Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Sponsor, not at
the time of transmission by the entrant. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late,
incomplete, misdirected or illegible entries nor for electronic transmission errors resulting in
omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or
destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical,
network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software
malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive
entry information by Sponsor or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic
congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any
reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to
infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical
failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupt or
affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this
Competition, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual
who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the
Competition and select only the Winner using the judging criteria as stated herein from
among all eligible entries received up to the point of Sponsor‟s action provided there are
a sufficient number of eligible entries have been received. Caution: Any attempt by an
individual to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of
the Competition is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be
made, Sponsors reserve the right to seek damages from any such individual to the fullest
extent of the law.
