You will be viewing a selected scene from the film Blade Runner and referring to
a selected passage from Frankenstein prior to the assessment day. On the day of
assessment, you will receive the essay question and respond under exam
conditions within the time frame of 45 mins.

3. Context for the task:


Students have been studying the concept Texts in Time. This task will determine the
student’s ability to actively engage in the details of both texts, Blade Runner and
Frankenstein, demonstrating their extensive knowledge of the texts and their contexts.
Students have been exploring the themes & issues of the two texts, as well as the
technical/stylistic construction of the texts.

4. Task Description:

You will be given an essay question on the day of the assessment. In


your response, you will need to refer to the following scene in
Bladerunner and the chapter from Frankenstein.
Blade Runner: Roy meets Tyrell and denies him longer life.
Frankenstein: Volume 3, Chapter 3 (Chapter 20)

• Pay attention in class. Listen to your class teacher when he/she is explaining
the concept Texts in Time and the texts Blade Runner and Frankenstein..
• Read widely and make appropriate notes on each of the texts set for study.
• Prepare notes on both the contexts
• Make sure all work is up-to-date.
• Attempt all activities in class.
