2) Introduction:
Fifa: “Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Granada Hills Charter High School, celebrating
50 years of academic excellence. We would like to welcome you to the 50th Homecoming
Parade and thank you all for being here tonight. I, Fifa Tosunidis along with Miss Jasmine
Saleh and Miss Ashley Cunningham will be your hosts this evening. We would also like to
express a special thank you to all of our organizations on campus for their involvement and
contribution to this event.”

6:10-6:15- America The Beautiful, Choir

Jasmine: “ At this time, we ask that you please rise and remove your caps for the
singing of ‘America the Beautiful’ by our very own Granada Choir.”

Guidance Script for Event Hosts
The theme for this year is: As Time Goes By. Please welcome our first float:

1. ASHLEY: Freshmen- Movies Through the Decades


- “We have seen motion pictures develop greatly during the last 50 years. From The Music
Man to Cabaret starring Liza Minelli and to the 1997 hit “Titanic”, here are the Freshmen
with Movies Through the Decades.”

2. JASMINE: Global Relief Fund- the 70s


- “Global Relief Fund promotes the relief of the worldʼs many crises through creative
fundraising and donations to charity. They celebrate the parade with their 70s float!”

3. FIFA: Filipino Club- Filipino Time


- “The Filipino Club here at Granada units and represents the Filipino Population at
Granada, they explore Filipino culture and give back to the Filipino Community. Their
theme is Filipino Time!”

4. ASHLEY: Sophomores- the 60s


- “The theme for the Sophomore Class is the 60s. From 60s clothing to 60s music, the 60s
were truly some fun times! Give it up for the Class of 2013.”

5. JASMINE: Cheer- the 80s


- “Here comes Granada Cheer with their 80s float! I wonder what Cheerleaders looked like
back in the 80s.”

6. FIFA: Dance- the 90s


- Choreographed by Ms. Silva, Granadaʼs Dance Teams pumps up Granada Spirit along with
Cheer! Their theme is the 90s.”

7. ASHLEY: Juniors- Fashion Through the Decades


- “ A great variety of colors, fabrics and textiles make up the crazy fashions we have all worn
through the decades. Here are the Juniors with Fashion through the Decades.”

8. JASMINE: Interact Club- Heroes Through the Decades


- “Say hello to the superheroes from Interact Club. Interact Club allows young students to
dedicate service and international understanding in order to work together to help out
others.”

9. FIFA: Youth Against Poverty- Disney Films Through the Decades


- “ Youth Against Poverty educates and brings awareness to global poverty issue to young
students. Their theme is Disney Films Through the Decades.”

10. ASHLEY: Seniors- Music Through the Decade


- “ Here come the Seniors Class of 2011, Dancing and Grooving to their theme: Music
Through the Decades”.

11. JASMINE: Gay Straight Alliance- Civil Rights Through the Decades
- “Next we see Gay Straight Alliance, a club here at Granada that aims to educate Granadaʼs
student body about the issues facing the Lesbian/Gay community. Their theme is Civil
Rights Through the Decades.”

12. FIFA: Eco Plant Club- Tree Huggers of the 60s


- “ The Eco Plant Club presents ʻTree Huggers of the 60sʼ. The purpose of this club is to
approach issues of environmental sustainability through fostering the genuine scientific
interest in the field of Botany.”

13. ASHLEY: Girlʼs Soccer- The Future


-“ Wondering whatʼs in store for the future? Here comes the Girlʼs Soccer Team with their
theme: The Future!”.

14. JASMINE: Swim and Dive- Outstanding Athletes Through the Years
-“ Make way for the Swim and Dive team! These amazing swimmers celebrate with their
theme: Outstanding Athletes Through the Years.”

15. FIFA: Heal LA- Erasing the Effects of Time on Parks/Beaches


- Here comes Heal LA, a club on campus that beautifies and cleans up community parks
and beaches within Los Angeles. Their theme is: Erasing the Effects of Time on Parks and
Beaches.”

16. ASHLEY: Highlander Strings Association- Stringing Through the Decades


-“ With their theme cleverly titled as: Stringing Through the Decades, here comes the
Highlander Strings Association whose club purpose is to bring together all musicians and
spread the art and education of musical instruments.”

17. JASMINE: Muslim Student Association- Cartoon Character Through the Decades
- “Entering the parade is the Muslim Student Association with their them: Cartoon Characters
Through the Decades. The Muslim Student Association tries to inform students about
Islamic culture.”

community through volunteering and community service. Their theme is Service Over the
Years.”

19. ASHLEY: Rachelʼs Challenge- Childrenʼs Books Through the Decades


- “ Here comes Rachelʼs Challenge with their theme: Childrenʼs Books Through the
Decades. The purpose of Rachelʼs Challenge is to spread kindness and compassion
throughout the school and community.”

20. JASMINE: Water Polo- Water Polo Through Time


- “In the mood for some amazing players? Here is the Water Polo Team with their theme:
Water Polo Through Time.”

21. FIFA: Yearbook- Seasons through the Decades


- “ Providing yearbooks for the past 50 years, here is Yearbook with their theme: Seasons
through the Decades.”

22. ASHLEY: Mock Trail Club- History Making Decisions in US Government


- “ All rise! [SAY AS IN A COURTROOM] Here comes Mock Trail Club with their theme:
History Making Decisions in US Government. This club educates and enlightens students on
the importance and nature of court room proceedings in the real world.”

24. FIFA: Got College Club- The Toga Days (Fraternities)


- “ Got College? The Got College Club promotes awareness about colleges and offers
information to all those planning on going to college. Their theme is: The Toga Days.”

25. ASHLEY: Table Tennis Club- The Millennium


- “ Raising awareness, exposure and ubiquity through competition and entertainment of table
tennis. They are the Table Tennis Club with their theme: The Millennium.”

26. JASMINE: Adventure Club- Inventions and Discoveries Through the Decades
- “Are you ready for some adventure? The Adventure Club exposes students to new things
through “adventure” on kindness, boldness and self-discovery. Here they are with their
theme: Inventions and Discoveries Through the Decades.”

28. ASHLEY: Game Development Guild- Games Through the Decades


- “ Wanna play a game? Join Game Development Guild as they explore the game
development industry through researching gaming products, creating new games and
developing new skills. Their them is : Games Through the Decades.”

29. JASMINE: Korean Club- Korean Culture


- “ The Korean Club makes their way into the parade. Their theme is Korean Culture and the
purpose of their club is to bring awareness about Korean Culture to the campus.”

30. FIFA: Girlʼs Volleyball- Technology of the Future


- “ Letʼs welcome the Girlʼs Volleyball Team with their theme: Technology of the Future!
These girls know how to use their gadgets!”

31. ASHLEY: Love 146- Summer of Love


- “ Love 146 is a club on campus whose purpose is to abolish child sex slavery and to help
survivors escape their dark past. Their theme is: Summer of Love.”

32. JASMINE: Alumni- General Alumni


“ How does it feel to come back to Granada after all these years? Please welcome Granada
Alumni!”

33. FIFA: Alumni- Sports Alumni


- “ Granada is well known for its amazing sports team! And here they are: Granada Sports
Alumni.”
