Reiki and Islam

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none
worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (SAW) is His slave and
Messenger.
Before I begin I would like to say that this research was an unbiased research. I
started finding about reiki when I heard about it on TV and from people who
practice it. I have given account of what is reiki from the sites of institutes of reiki
and also from wikipedia.
I begin with verses from the Holy Quran and Hadees of Prophet (saw).
Allah says: And they ask you (o Muhammad (saw)) concerning the ruh (the
spirit). Say: “The Ruh (the spirit) is one of the things, the knowledge of which is
only with my Lord. And of the knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a
little. “ (Surah 17 Al-Isra , Ayat # 85)
Narrated by Abdullah (Bukhari book 003 hadees 127)
While I was going through the ruins of medina and he was reclining on a date
palm leaf stalk, some jews passed by. Some of them said to the others . Ask him
(the prophet peaceb upon him) about the spirit. Some of them said that they
should not ask him that question as he may might give a reply which would
displease them. But some of them insisted on asking, and so one of them stood
up and asked, “O abu-al- Qasim! what is the spirit?” The Prophet remained quiet.
I thought he was being inspired Divinely Inspired. So i stayed till that state of
Prophet ( of being Divinely inspiration) was over. The prophet then recited the
above verses. (surah 17, ayat 85).
On the authority of ‘Umar, radiyallahu ‘anhu, who said:
“While we were one day sitting with the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi
wasallam, there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothes
and with very black hair. No traces of journeying were visible on him, and none of
us knew him.
He sat down close by the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, rested his knee
against his thighs, and said, O Muhammad! Inform me about Islam.” Said the
Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, “Islam is that you should testify
that there is no deity save Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger, that you
should perform salah (ritual prayer), pay the zakah, fast during Ramadan, and
perform Hajj (pilgrimage) to the House (the Ka’bah at Makkah), if you can find a
way to it (or find the means for making the journey to it).” Said he (the man), “You
have spoken truly.”
We were astonished at his thus questioning him and telling him that he was right,
but he went on to say, “Inform me about iman (faith).” He (the Messenger of
Allah) answered, “It is that you believe in Allah and His angels and His Books
and His Messengers and in the Last Day, and in fate (qadar), both in its good
and in its evil aspects.” He said, “You have spoken truly.”
Then he (the man) said, “Inform me about Ihsan.” He (the Messenger of Allah)
answered, ” It is that you should serve Allah as though you could see Him, for
though you cannot see Him yet He sees you.” He said, “Inform me about the
Hour.” He (the Messenger of Allah) said, “About that the one questioned knows
no more than the questioner.” So he said, “Well, inform me about the signs
thereof (i.e. of its coming).” Said he, “They are that the slave-girl will give birth to
her mistress, that you will see the barefooted ones, the naked, the destitute, the
herdsmen of the sheep (competing with each other) in raising lofty buildings.”
Thereupon the man went off.
I waited a while, and then he (the Messenger of Allah) said, “O ‘Umar, do you
know who that questioner was?” I replied, “Allah and His Messenger know
better.” He said, “That was Jibril. He came to teach you your religion.””

Do you have something else which elaborates Reiki is not prohibited in Islam
actually the reason of asking you this question because i start to learning some
Reiki but before that i have to study its not going to conflicts with our islamic
thoughts.
Actually i found lot of eBooks for practicing Reiki in which i found step to step
leaning from initial to master lever, unfortunately there are lot of Hindu Mantaras

Reiki Is Haram and shirk and not permitted in islam. reiki symbols are not
japanese alphabets as explained by Prof. Moiz Hussain. People know more about
reiki at level 2 and 3 when symbols and belief come out. emotional symbol in
reiki means=buddah in me and God become one. distance symbol means= budha
in me contacts budah in you. Prophets PBH as clearly prohibited buddist and
monk traditions such as shaving head other than hajj and ummrah and wearing of
saffron coloured clothes worn by buddist monks. also when you invoke or draw
emotional and distance and master symbols you are invoking buddah not allah
and is shirk.
