European Country Research Project

Due Monday, December 6th

1. Choose a European country that you would like to explore and learn more about.

2. Research that country to find out this information and write it down:

• What is the population?

• What language do they speak?
• What types of landforms does this country have?
• What is the capital?
• What are some of the other important cities or places? What famous landmarks are found there? (For example,
France is home to the Eiffel Tower, Palace of Versailles, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the French Riviera, which
is home to the Cannes Film Festival.)
• What natural resources does this country have? What is its major export (what are they famous for making and
selling)?
• What types of jobs are popular or common in this country?
• What sports, hobbies, or past times are popular in this country? (For example, soccer, rugby, gardening, and
drinking tea are all popular in England.)
• What form(s) of government does this country have? (Is it a democracy, monarchy, parliamentary, or some other
form of government?)

3. Type or write two paragraphs about the country’s people and culture. Include what foods (dishes) are traditional, what
and how holidays/festivals are celebrated, and the major ethnic groups and religions found in the country.

4. Type or write two paragraphs about the history of this country. Include what you feel are the most important/interesting
events and historical leaders/figures.
