First you have to prepare two photographs, front and profile views, to transfer the whole 3D head.
Model preparation
The first step, that is a little tricky, consists in adapting the shape of the mesh to the shape of the photographed face.
To do it, go in the Sculpture Studio. Click on the Background icon to load the photo of the front view, click on the 6
key of the numeric keypad and load the photo of the profile view.
The position of the reference image behind the model is crucial because the sculpture and paint work will depend on it.
Like in the previous example, use SHIFT to modify the position of the model and CTRL for the image.
In the Sculpture Studio, shape the mesh with the modeling tools. At the beginning, stay in symmetry mode to save
time, then you will certainly have to disable the option to finalize the model because a face is rarely symmetrical.
Colors transfert
Once the front and profile images transfered, you will certainly have some little retouching work to do on the model
texture.
The best tools will be STAMP and PICK COLOR for joining texture parts, and SMOOTH for cleaning transitions.
The main retouch that you will have to do consists in softening the transition between the projection of the front view
and the one of the profile view.
First, stay in the Background mode and use a brush with a very low STRENGTH to paint the transition areas, that is to say
the front and profile borders. Afterwards quit the Background mode to do the joins with the STAMP tool and a brush
with low intensity to modify the texture with progressive strokes.
Once the texture finalized, you can retouch at will the mesh of your model to make it more symmetrical or more coher-
ent.
Finally, place the eyes and eyelashes. If you sculpted the model without symmetry, you have to keep the option disable
to perfectly position the eyes and eyelashes.
