Packages Limited
Packages Limited started operating in May 1957 with a paid up capital of Rs.

4.94 million as a joint venture between the Ali group and Akerlund &

Rausing of Sweden. In the beginning 22 Swedish experts came to Pakistan to

run the factory and to train the Pakistani staff. In 1958 production of

packaging cartons for different industries was started.

Packages Limited is a leading packaging manufacturing company of

Pakistan. It is the sole largest industry in Pakistan serving about the 35%

needs of the country.

Consumer Products:
Rose Petal is consumer product that was the first consumer product
introduced by Packages Ltd. They produce:

o Tissues

 Rose Petal

 Tulip

o Paper Plates

o Paper Cups

 o Feminex

Activities Performed during internship:

On 18-11-2010 when I join the first day in CPD. It was nice to see all sales
and marketing force of Consumer products under one roof then I meet with
Mr.Farhan (Rsm) and then he send me to their distribution office in patyala
Ground near Hall road where I meet with Mr.Usman (Asm) on here my
internship Start.

I visited different Shops, Departmental Stores and many other Super stores
collect data on different brands of Consumer Product Packages like Rose
Petal and Tulip. I asked questions and also give close Question Air to
Customer and Consumers. The Questions are about their Satisfaction Levels
and need of the Product. Almost all of the consumers are satisfied with the
Quality of Rose petal they also like Tulip in Perfumed. Some of the
customers which are not using Tissue said that Rose petal Tissue is for upper
Class and they don’t have need for this product. But company adopted
different strategies to over come this Problem and that’s why they introduce
their Cheap Brand Tulip and also promoting its Brand Awareness and
Recognition in Customers.

Tena Slip is a Product which is marketed by Packages. I also done some

work on it I done Swot Analysis on it and presented it to MR Usman (ASM)
the main Weakness of this Product is it is costly and we don’t see and kind of
advertisement of this Product and next big thing is its competitors are very
strong in market they almost covers 80 % share of market and their Prices
are also Less as compare with Tena Slip.

I also visited Production Department of tissue and dispatch department care

fully analysis that they have latest technology and have best employees.
They are hard working people and quality Supervisor is very conscious about
their quality of Product.

During my Internship Program I have seen that consumer product Division

team have done a very hard work to make its brand Rose petal a leading
brand in tissue and also gets brand of year award .In Pakistan Rose Petal
have Attained 90% of market and this is all because of this talented team.

 CONCLUSION

• Packages are one of the latest and pioneer

packaging units in Pakistan.
• It also assists the other countries in paper
technology and management.
• It is leader in pulp & paper and packaging industry
in Pakistan.
• It pays a huge amount annually in the form of taxes
to the government of Pakistan.
• Rose Petal tissues are very popular among
customers.

RECOMMENDATIONS

• The most important issue is the high prices of the products of

Packages Limited; due to this it loses a number of customers. So the
management of Packages must take some measures to cope with this
problem so as to attract new customers.

• Consumer Product Department is producing disposable cups and

plates, but they are not promoting these products. They should
educate consumers about these products with an effective
promotional program.

• Packages Limited does not offer the credit base sales which effect
the sales and as well as losing the more other opportunities.
