What else would the holiday season be without a sale!

So normally at this time of year we talk about what we accomplished over the past year, look forward
to the future and plan out our next moves, goals, aspirations. The odd part of this is that the
overwhelming percentage of these ‘resolutions’ go forgotten over the course of the year. Well, what
good is that!? I’m not sure I can recall ever personally making a resolution, at least during my ‘adult’
years but it IS important to have an idea, if not just a twinkle of one, of what we want to do. The law
of attraction is powerful and we forget this. Too often we get caught up in acknowledging the negative
by saying we ‘wont’ or ‘dont’, etc when really we should focusing on what we actually DO want to
happen/accomplish.

I found that working in the restaurant industry in a ski town one of the standard conversation quips
was how one was ‘doing’. Well, once you start saying every day is a great day, they just might be. I am
not saying we dont have days that make us cringe, but everyday IS a great day...some are just better
than others :)

Here’s to 2011! Shaloha!

Having a shot in your head is great...figuring

out how to accomplish it is another story.
This is an ~18min exposure showing star trails
with my favorite tree, the Rainbow Eucalyptus.
Now for the tricky part...this stand is right
next to the main road in Princeville. I had shot
a few other exposures without movement and
was understanding how the passing cars were
affecting the light on the tree. Then, take a
guess at settings and go. Used my headlamp to
light up the front of the tree, tilted the
camera up enough so the passing cars would
not be visible and used my iPhone to point me
north. Did not get to see what I captured
until 30min later as the camera worked to
process the image. A worthwhile wait!
