FIGURE 1
Figure (a) shows a fisherman walking to his boat. Figure (b) shows the
fisherman carrying a basket full of fish from his boat. Observe both figure
especially the foot prints of the fisherman and answer the following
questions.
(a) State one suitable inference [1 mark]
(b) State one suitable hypothesis [1 mark]
(c) By using apparatus/materials such as plasticine, weight and others,
explain an experiment to test your hypothesis. In your experiment state
the following;
i) Purpose of experiment
ii) Variables involved in the experiment
iii) All the apparatus and materials
iv) Arrangement Apparatus
v) Experiment procedures including method to control the
manipulated variables and method to measure responding
variable
vi) Method to tabulate your data
vii) Method to analyze the data. [ 10 marks]
3. In Figure 3, two cooking pots P and Q are made from the same material
of equal mass. If equal amount of heat is supplied to pots P and Q, it is
noted that the temperature of liquid R in pot P is higher than in pot Q.

FIGURE 5
Figure 6 shows a girl having a meal with her mother. She notices
that the lamp with a longer hanging wire oscillates more slowly.
Based on the observation in Figure 5,
a) Make one suitable inference (1)
b) State one appropriate hypothesis for an investigation (1)
c) With the use of appropriate apparatus, describe an
experimental framework to test your hypothesis. In your
description, state clearly the following:
i) Aim of the experiment
ii) Variable used in the experiment
iii) List of apparatus and materials
iv) Arrangement of the apparatus
v) The procedure of the experiment which include the
method of controlling the manipulated variable and the
method of measuring the responding variable
vi) Way you would tabulate the data
vii) Way you would analyze the data ( 10 )

7.Diagram 7.1 and 7.2 shows two roadside stalls selling “ABC” and “PAU”.
Battery
Both stalls are using the same bulbs and batteries that are new. The
bulb at the “ABC” stall is brighter than the bulb at the “PAU” stall.

the shore.

(c) With the use of apparatus such as insulated wires, power supply
and other suitable apparatus, describe an experiment framework to
investigate the hypothesis stated in 4(b). In your description, state
clearly the following :
( i) Aim of the experiment
( ii) Variables in the experiment
(iii) List of apparatus and materials.
(iv) Arrangement of the apparatus
( v) The procedure of the experiment which includes the method
of controlling the manipulated variable and the method of
measuring the responding variable.
( vi ) The way you would tabulate the data
( vii) The way you would analyze the data.
