A simple living personality, Manoj Kumar Chourey with high career goals and belives in
dilivering values through proffessional services blended with always possitive attitude.
Bachelors in Architecture as a basic technical qualification with Masters in Building
Engineering and Management helps his approach more planned, managed, systematic and
quantifyble.

Never compromising with quality of education he always performed good to the excellent
levels. He started professional career as a trainee architect and now serving as Senior Design
& Technical Management level . Quality in detail & timely dilivery is his core character wich
he always been demostrated evry single time through various scale of projects and varieyty of
leadership roles.

Personally Mr. Chourey belive in performing to the next stage of expectations and consider
himself as authority of the situation & solutions. He always looks in to the challenges with
options. He have been dilivering various and varied scale of challenging projects and lead
through some of the most prestigious, Landmark, Benchmark & Mega projects.

Though in majority of career his has been mostly associated dilivering Healthcare, Hospital
& Institutional projects but he has also been intrumental in dilivering Good, Quality and

A. Quality
It has been always a strong believe with Mr. Chourey that quality is a way of life. In
this competitive world ‘Only the ones’ will excel who delivers quality first. To him; this
statement is the vision to drive all aspects of his actions toward achieving minimum
quality standards. However as an individual personality he always strives to set &
achieve upgraded quality goals with the clarity of organizations vision in core.

Manoj has been a member of steering committee for quality assurance system at his
tenure at H.S.C.C. (India) Ltd. where he was working in capacity of Deputy Manager
(Architecture). He has been appreciated for his creative approach towards work
simplification process and re-defining the work flow for technical working. He has been
Auditor for internal ISO quality audits and auditee for several external and final audits.
During his association with H.S.C.C., the company achieved the ISO certification.

 Following to his next change as Senior Architect, at Sidus Architects & Engineers
(formally Sidus Infotech) he was assigned to set up the department of architecture
where he stood up to challenge and developed quality systems for internal working as
well as systems for deliveries from the department. Considering his past experience &
record with HSCC, here also he has been assigned to take care of ISO certification
requirements and its companywide implementation. Again Mr. Chourey performed to the
expectation and Sidus too got ISO certification during his tenure of association.

B. Customer
Is the King, Manoj knows that he is always here to serve them with best of his
professional competence. He strongly believes that customer satisfaction is the key to
success in any given business. Especially in service sector where, change,
requirements, expectations are dynamic. It is even more challenging to satisfy the
customer as if they are doing their own job. Here my goal is to win total confidence.

Mr. Chourey has been interacting with the client right from business development till
completion, presenting ideas & facts about project specifics, budgets, schedules, plans
and also helping them to identify & select vendors. He has been very successful in most
of the vocation to grab the job and deliver through client’s satisfaction. As mentioned
varied scale of projects both in terms of size & cost he has been associated with the
projects, budgeted for as big as 8.5 Billion and as small as USD-20,000 (please refer to
the list of Major Projects, a separate attachment).

C. Team
No individual can achieve significant, it’s a team who plays & shares success. Manoj
take total ownership of the situation and work with the team to deliver the best. For
him a team is an always growing phenomenon, includes not only who is involved but
also who has come across he is an excellent team player not only professionally but
also extend towards personal social aspects of it.
Beyond the dedicated team members he has got, in terms of overall team size, he has
always been working in a good size. The core team size throughout his career is
fluctuating between Six – Twenty but in his peak load he used to lead a team of more
than 50 people and now considering these many number of people in consulting
scenario, it’s remarkable. The full fledged composed team he was supported with
architects, engineers, Draftsman, Site coordinators also the team working with his as
sub-consultants was lead by him now that makes the numbers even bigger. Since Mr.
Chourey started at senior position he had been dealing with core team of 4-6 architects,
1-2 Interior designers and 10-15 draftsmen.

D. Dedication
This is one of Mr. Chouery’s core assets. When he says ‘I take ownership of situation’
he am fully dedicated to achieve what has been planned for. He always loves to work
under sense of responsibility towards achieving something beyond. He says, his
dedication is totally unreasonable and only he only looks for the reasons for success.

E. Systematic approach
Mr. Chourey has a simple working philosophy => ‘Plan => enable => work =>
monitor & review => deliver => get feedback => learn & update. Manoj always knew
that when one deliver quality it always boosts and it’s always a win-win situation and
heart of it is it gives confidence to client to rely & offer more & more business

 ownership thus resulting growth. Manoj believes in creating opportunities rather than
expecting the same.

F. Technology
Today is world of technology; Manoj is always striving to keep himself updated with
latest trends technology. He has hunger to learn and grow; he is always a global
learner. Technology to him is a tool for efficient & smart working. Every single time,
Manoj is in look-out to upgrade and enhance his skills not only that he has always been
implementing it beautifully to real working scenario.

G. Knowledge
Knowledge gives the edge over this competitive world this is my key understanding
towards this word. However implementation of knowledge is one aspect which always
gives me an edge over my domain.

3. Duties & responsibilities

Professionally Mr. Chourey has grown from a trainee architect to the Senior / Lead
Architect. This growth has been witnessed various roles, responsibilities through the
projects of various status, scale, team size, location, regions and clients. There has
been tremendous experience and challenges which have been dealt successfully by him
to meet the client satisfaction and beyond. This document below is just to outline his
extreme exposure with respect to tech-managerial role he played as an integrated
duties & responsibilities.

Mr. Chourey is currently working in capacity of a Senior Architect / Manager (for recent
past 3 years) and in his past career he has been holding positions for Project Architect /
Manager and a Deputy Manager-architecture (in past 6 years) in his mid career and as
an assistant manager –architecture and a Junior / Trainee Architect (initial 3-4 years) in
his early career.

The spectrum of role played is outland herein below for appreciation:-

i. Senior / lead: last 3 years.

Since July’2006 Manoj has been holding senior technical position with various
organizations. His management capabilities have been always appreciated by
higher management. When he was working with HSCC he was having direct
report to Executive Director (Design) and then with Sidus Architects & engineers
he was heading the department with direct report to Director (Production) and
managing Director. With the Halcrow he was also responsible for construction
and execution and having direct reporting to Regional Director. Having said
above, there is a clear positive professional growth in his responsibilities and
team sizes he lead.

ii. Responsible for client interactions & management

Right from his career start Mr. Chourey is in direct interaction with client initially
as an assistant to seniors but not for long, soon he has grown enough to handle
this portion of his profession, as I remember Manoj has been presenting

 business, prospects, concepts, technical aspects, budgets & estimates to the
client since late 2002 it was about 3yeras he practically initiated his career. This
domain was soon become his own baby when he joined Sidus Architects &
engineers when he was positioned at head of the department and was
responsible for inflow of business, business process, optimization, and
development and this time remarkable he was dealing with international clients
mainly in Middle Eastern region but there are few from Europe and few from
America as well. His performance can be appreciated when it is said that during
his tenure the Architecture Department got business in of about USD-100,000
with expected profit of about USD-10,000 which was actually very well
appreciated by board of directors.

iii. Team building & responsibility distribution

This area of elaboration makes Manoj standing at conveniently preferred position
and far on away from the rest of the crowd of his peer group. He has
exceptional capability to build a team; his understanding to the requirements
gives him clarity to select most suitable resources. Following to the identification
of task he uses a concept of ‘work breakdown’ where he carefully define the
work packages which can be then allocated to a smaller team that way he makes
sure the team has a quantifiable targets to achieve and hence it’s that easy for
him to keep track of each of the activities. Moreover depending on the job
priority it’s easier for him to adjust critical path and adjust the available float
between packages. This is the key for all his successful deliverables. Not to
mention he uses Information and Technology to the best possible way and the
available IT tools are used to deal with complex coordination situations.

iv. Total project cycle delivery

When Mr. Chourey start the job he then look in to the whole future of the
project and his experience with big scale projects helps him to look in to total
project life cycle. Towards defining goal to the specific job he foresee all phases
of a construction project i.e. Concept Design, Design Development, Construction
Documentation, Execution & review at various phases. He always tries to look in
to resource requirements now only for present day but also for the future needs
this helps him to take ready and realistic decision which may be required to be
taken and to make commitment for dates and financial issues to the clients.

v. Monitoring & tracking

The job leads by Mr. Chourey always has a plan. Depending on the requirement
it’s dynamically adjusted using float and critical path methods. All work also has
an integrated master schedule which includes all team. A continuous monitoring
of the base plan is done using weekly / monthly and task assignments through
time sheet system. The plan is always tracked with latest info for latest
happening status. Critical activities are highlighted to continuous tracking in
order to ensure a well delivered plan.

vi. Design management

This head is the perfect place to put some light on Mr. Chourey’s fast-track
performance. It can be easily understood that design of a building of a specialty
projects like hospitals are very-very dynamic, this is not only due to its specific
and stringent requirement & compliance but also due to multiple organizational
scenarios, always upgrading medical equipment aspects and fast updates in

 conceptual changes due to stakeholder’s demand. This makes the whole cycle
very complex. Everything needs to be put in a table for a lead designers for his
working and down the line clear and most up-to- date information has to be
passed on to all relevant parties.
This is a huge coordination task when we talk about the kind of projects Manoj
has been involved in. He is an excellent manager of information he uses a info-
matrix approach to keep the flow to max he also uses many other IT tools to
track down the information and maintain the history of them. He, as an
integrated responsibility coordinates amongst various parties both technical side
as well as management side. Management side they are clients, project
management team, planning team and technical side, his own domain alongside
core construction teams.

vii. Construction coordination

Mr. Chourey is also visiting construction site to address in-site issues as well as
to ensure the implementation of design intent and technical integration. He
foresees the future issues like building services integration and resolve them
with design team to take execution forward. Lot of time and money has been
saved by him under this shoulder for an instance Electrical Substation area in
SMRC project was kind of separated from statuary approval point of view and
was dealt by a designated separate agency. During that approval process there
were lot of changes were happening but lead designers / architects were working
on the faced system only considering the architectural point of concern and
meanwhile based on basic design intent were also on going at actual site
appreciating criticality Manoj played a key role to integrate all platforms to
satisfy all parties and the requirements towards a satisfactory completion of that
portion of area.

viii. Business development & presentations

Mr. Manoj Kumar Chourey hasn’t been currently positioned to shoulder this
particular area of his expertise but he had already a successful record with Sidus
Architects & Engineers in his past where he was the only responsible
management executive to handle this with clients. He worked with BD team for
various business presentations leading bagful of business for the company.
During these presentations he was responsible to present design ideas, company
competency and ability to deliver, project estimates & costing for various scale
of projects of international location. Many times these presentations are one-on-
one but then more challenging on-line presentation were also part of his
remarkable past.

ix. Quality Systems

Mr. Chourey in his current position hasn’t been involved in conceptualizing the
quality systems but in his past he has been one of the core members of team
responsible for. Systems regards to his internal department working as well as
the quality systems like ISO certification has been very well handled by him
towards achieving certification at HSCC & Sidus. (Please refer to 2A for).

At a Junior / Trainee Architect : Mr. Manoj’s learning sprit was at peak this time, hard
working & self motivated to handle responsibilities, was fortunate enough to work at
much higher level than just a trainee.

4. Administration & Management

This particular area gives Mr. Chourey an edge over others of his peer experience group. His
educational background of Masters in Building Engineering & Management provides him much
greater exposures & grip towards scientific planning & management of the job assigned. He
understands the assignment much more practically not only from the view point of an architect
but also from perspective of all stakeholders i.e. client, execution & contractors.

5. Customer and personal Services

Customer is “The Master”, Customer being the center of project vision & interest and Manoj
being the main tool to achieve the same he always intent to make customer delighted. In Mr.
Chourey’s view; the above philosophy is the best description of understanding of “Customer
Service”. With this very core philosophy of understanding, He always keep repeating to himself
that I am here because of the customer and my ultimate duty is not only making customer
happy but much beyond; making them delighted.

Principally all his actions (external or internal) are always oriented towards customer benefit.
Everyone who is affected or going to be affected by Manoj’s professional actions considered as
a customer to him and he always make sure that my actions become the best possible option
available for them. Client being the ultimate customer, I take ownership of me & my core
working team and I consider all engineering disciplines, contractors, project managers are
customers of mine. I always maintain professional integrity and try to deliver beyond
expectations, i.e. at least to the next level of next obvious. As a leader I never had a problem
I have always converted the so called problem in to the issues & looked in to the same as the
possibility of a creative solution. In other words…. so for all practical purposes I usually do not
have any problems but the issues with various possible solutions. Success for me means
customer delight & appreciation of team work.
