Configuring a Phantom TN

Only the following prompts need a response. Leave all the other prompts as defau
lt, including the class of service (CLS). You do this by pressing the Enter Key
(Carriage Return) to leave the setting as default.
Load overlay LD 10 to configure the Phantom 500 sets.

PHANTOM (This is printed by the system as you programme
the Phantom TN.)
DES PHANTM (This doesn't have to be PHANTM but it is a usef
ul way to
identify them.)

FTR CFW 16 (This is required if the calls are to be forward
ed to an
alternative DN)
FTR DCFW 16 xxxx (You have to enter a DCFW.)
Tip. If you can't remember where the Phantom TNs are, use LD 81, the Feature Pri
nt overlay.
You can search for them by entering the DES in the Listing. That's why it is us
eful to enter the DES as PHANTM when creating a new Phantom 500 set.
Using the Feature
A call is directed to a phantom DN. If the phantom DN is Call Forward Activated,
the call
is directed to its CFW DN. If the phantom DN is Call Forward Deactivated, the c
all is directed to its DCFW DN. The Remote Call Forward feature is used to activ
ate or change the CFW DN.
To activate Remote Call Forward:
Dial the Remote Call Forward Activate Flexible Feature Code.
Dial the Station Control Password for the telephone to be forwarded.
Dial the Prime DN of the telephone to be forwarded.
Dial the number to which calls will be forwarded.
Dial the end-of-entry digit #
To cancel Remote Call Forward:
Dial the Remote Call Forward Deactivate FFC.
Dial the Station Control Password for the telephone.
Dial the Prime DN of the telephone.

Each SuperLoop gives you the equivalent of four (4) 16-port analog cards (64 TNs
). Card numbers in an 11c start at 61, so you can build phantom phones on 61 x,
62 x, 63 x, and 64 x. If you need to build more SuperLoops, use N100 next, N10
4, etc. (increase by 4).
When a phantom DN rings, it is forced to forward (DCFW) to the physical phoneset
- users with displays can see the forwarded number and tell who should pick up.
If nobody answers, the call is forwarded again (SFA) to the voicemail DN progr
ammed in the phantom (FTR FDN xxxx).
Mailboxes are set up exactly as if the phantom phones were physical, with the ph
antom's extension as the mailbox extension number. The users will get no indica
tion voicemail is waiting from a phantom phone, so they'll have to manually chec
k it on their own.
Thanks to Gene Trout for help in figuring this all out.
