Once the ETPs are established they start to formulate their own
sector-wide strategy in complete coordination with all stakeholders.
They decide on the priorities of the sector and the features of the
interventions and activities to be implemented on annual bases. When
it comes to the initiatives related to addressing the mismatch in the
labour market, where companies complain that they do not find the
workers with the right skills, the ETPs in various sectors have started an
initiative to upgrade Technical Secondary Schools (TSSs) affiliated to
the Ministry of Education. This long-term initiative included introducing
a new and innovative form of cooperative education called Alternance
Education and Training within the TSSs. Companies are involved in
developing the curricula, reviewing the textbooks, providing on-the-
job training for students as well as training the teachers within their
factories and organisations to make sure that they understand the
working environment and transfer that to students.
Generally speaking, this long-term initiative so far has been quite
successful although there were some challenges in convincing both
sides to work together and cooperate. These challenges were quickly
addressed thanks to the vision and cooperation of some leading
companies like El-Arabi Group in Moufyia who realized that waiting
for the system to improve on its own is a mistake and that they had to
join forces with serious partners in or order to solve the problem at its
root and try to improve the quality of the TSS graduates (it is estimated

Employer’s 3rd Corporate Football Tournament,
Ramadan 2010.

The Tournament took place at Hayah Sports Academy


from the 13th of August till the 4th of September 2010.
With the participation of the numerous well established
companies, the tournament’s success was outstanding
and phenomenal.

The Tournament started off with a remarkable oriental


show which made the crowd embrace the Ramadan
atmosphere and get warmed up and ready to play!!

With a number of 9-10 matches per day, the energy was


at its fullest. And all teams had their eyes on the prize!!
Team building was very obvious among teams. With
every player working together to win, the court was full
of fun, enthusiasm and anticipation.

But nothing gave away the feeling of anticipation and


challenge more than the finale! With a number of two
matches played that day! The contest was at its highest,
as Shell Marketing and Intraconuslt were battling for the
third place, Synovate & Orascom Construction Industries
were battling for the 1st and 2nd place!

Between the two most important matches of the season,


a free styling show was presented to lessen the stress
and dazzle away all the audience that were present! With
this unforgettable show, the day was very enjoyable and
successful. Working hard and not forgetting to have
some fun is what presented us with our three winners
for the Employer’s 3rd Corporate Football Tournament:

odafone’s most anticipated yearly sports event took place at Hayah
Sports Academy from the 14th of August to the 21st of August 2010.
Vodafone Football Tournament, Ramadan 2010 was organized by The
Marketer and was a complete success. Like every year, Vodafone was keen
on gathering all employees and sharing an event that will bring employees
together and unify them in a stress-free and fun way! With today’s busy world,
Vodafone has been working on stimulating the element of fun and outdoors
activities within the organization. After announcing the qualified teams in
the tournament, team work and enthusiasm then began! The Tournament’s
organization was outstanding and with the presence of Red Bull, the energy
was at its highest! The enthusiasm and eagerness to win then began and the
competition kept getting fiercer by the day. The atmosphere was phenomenal,
and as the days went by and the teams began to lessen, so it was a matter
of survival of the toughest, fastest and most unified team! The finale was the
day many have been waiting for, with Captain Samir Usman, the international
referee handling the final match; the tension of that day filled the court and was
great! The presence of Mr. Khaled Hegazy, External Affairs Director as well as
Mr. Karim Maher, External Affairs Supervisor in the finale of the tournament
gave away the feeling of unity and teamwork within Vodafone! The teams then
started racing to the number one place and played hard accordingly. It was no
surprise to see that this year’s winner was Juventus Team, who have played
the most strategic matches throughout the tournament. Friends then came
in 2nd place and were pleased to carry this title. As for the 3rd place winners,
Mansoura Stars were as excited as our first two.
