Stephen A. Sonnenberg is a professor of geology and holds the Charles Boettcher
Distinguished Chair in Petroleum Geology at the Colorado School of Mines. He
specializes in unconventional reservoirs, sequence stratigraphy, tectonic
influence on sedimentation, and petroleum geology. A native of Billings,
Montana, Sonnenberg received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from Texas A&M
University and his Ph.D. in geology from the Colorado School of Mines. He has
more than 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry. He has served as the
president of several organizations, including the AAPG, Rocky Mountain
Association of Geologists, and Colorado Scientific Society.
Aris Pramudito holds an M.S. degree in geology from the Colorado School of Mines
(2008) and a B.E. degree in geological engineering from the Bandung Institute of
Technology (ITB) (2006). He has worked in several unconventional and
conventional oil and gas plays in the United States and has been involved in
several carbonate reservoir characterization studies in the northeast Java Basin
