English Majors Association (EMA)

The English Majors Association is a recognized student organization created

to provide English Majors with privileges and services that will develop them
into well-rounded, skilled and knowledgeable persons.

Objectives

• To improve the quality of the English Majors’ academic and extra-

curricular performance
• To provide avenues of expression for English Majors’ in the fields of
speaking, writing, reading, listening, and even theater and journalism
skills through the organization’s lecture fora, newsletters, play
productions and other co-curricular events that enhance
language/linguistic competencies
• To encourage fellowship among English Majors studying in USC and
eventually with English Majors from other colleges and universities by
providing interactions that foster cooperation and communication
• To promote interest in the Literary Art not only among English Majors
but all Carolinians as well
• To pursue researches in Linguistics, Literature and Languages thus
help promote academic growth
