Roque is one of the Ecuadorians with largest trajectory and importance in the
environmental conservation field being President at Metropolitan Touring, the biggest
tourism operator from Ecuador; President of Tourism Chamber in Pichincha and President

Juan Carlos is professor at INCAE Business School. His general academic interest is
about the role of the digital technologies and social structures in the diffusion of ideas,
behaviors and artifacts. Ph.D.
He was member of the “Human Dynamic Group” from the Medium Laboratories at the Professor
Technologic Institute of Massachusetts. Previously he was the Deputy Director at the INCAE
Latin American Center for the Competitiveness and Sustainable Development from Business School
INCAE, and consultant of the World Bank for the strategy development and business Costa Rica
plan elaboration at Mesoamerican Biologic Corridor. He is co writer of the educational
policy in Costa Rica and one of the pioneers in digital design form that country.
Professor Barahona is consultant of companies and governments in several Latin
American countries in the strategy and organizational fields. He is author of studies of
entrepreneurship cases, articles, books and chapters of books in sustainable
development, port reform, commercial logistic and information technology for
development and social networks analysis topics.

María Teresa Szauer


Currently Director of CAF’s Environmental Department, she is responsible for Master

She has previously worked as a consultant in sustainable development and Department

infrastructure, in international agencies such as the World Bank, UNDP and Colombia
the IDB. Ms. Szauer also participated in the creation of Colombia’s Ministry
of Environment, as well as, in the preparation and editing of the final chapter
of human and environmental rights in the preparatory stages of the 1991
Colombian Constitution.
