Visit of Rev.

Sudhir Dureja Ji

With blessings of H.H. Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj, Seattle Sangat was blessed with the visit of Rev. Sudhir
Dureja ji from Chicago.

On Saturday, February 12, the program began with the Sewadal rally where members demonstrated the
physical training exercises along with Sewadal prayer and marching geet. The Sewadal rally ended with
blessings from stage where Rev. Sudhir Ji emphasized the importance of selfless Sewa. Thereafter, the sewadal
members were presented with the Sewadal badges and ties and were asked to do true justice to these by not
treating them as just another pair of clothes or accessories.

After a short break, the congregation began with holy verses of Avtar Bani, which was followed by
several songs and speeches by local saints. Khushal Kurswani ji, a young saint, shared Baba ji’s views on the
need to have a pure heart. Niharika Sitomer ji, another young saint, shared her views on importance of such
congregations in solving the problems of today.

Rev. Chandra Shekhar ji, a saint from Portland, called Sangat the source to have everlasting happiness and joy
as it unites mind with the Nirankar. Rev. Joe Sitomer ji, a local saint, exclaimed coming to Sangat as similar to
the ‘Religion of Bird’ who while flying is just carried by what it knows is right. He said you may have reasons
to like someone but when you love, there is no reason for loving.

Rev. Dureja ji, while presiding from the stage won the hearts of saints with his inspiring words and convincing
examples from real life. He mentioned that the gift that this mission is giving to the society is good human
beings. He quoted late Prof. J.S Puri ji calling any religion/mission useless if it cannot bring any positive
change in one’s life. He also talked about ‘Applied Spirituality’ in bringing about a transformation in our lives.

Rev. Sudhir ji aptly correlated what we learn in mission to the three basic rules of swimming. He said
surrendering to Nirankar; doing Sewa, Satsang, and Simran; keeping faith in him at difficult times can be
related to swimming lessons. He inspired all towards reaching a ‘State of Detached Attachment’. He stressed
that after knowing and believing in ‘One’, it is equally important to ‘Be One’ with him. He elaborated that ego
acts as a hindrance towards being one with the true Lord Master.

Having the company of a saint like Sudhir ji was truly a blessing for Seattle Sangat and we look forward to
more visits by such learned saints.
