3.3. 1.9 Government inspector. Government inspector is a Cevernment

officiel who in chnrged with the responeibllityfor oesuring that the materials,
proceesee,fabricationtechniques, inspections,tests, and testing personnel
meet specificationand contractual requirements. In this regard, he shall be
the authorizedrepreaencativeor the following:

(a) When delegated by che authorized representative,the DCAWLA

inspector.
(b) For forces afloat: ZlreSqundron Commander or his delegated
representeclve.
(c) For Naval repair feclllties: ‘Thecommandingofficer or his
delegated representative.

3.3.1.10 Lethal fluids. Lethal fluids ere poisonousgeees or liquids of

euch nature chec e very .wnallemounc of ct.egas or vapor of the liquid ❑ixed
or unmixed with air is dangerous to human life when inhaled. For purposes of
piping system classification,lethal includes eubst.cnces of thie nature which
are stored under preesure or which may generate a preseure if etored in a
closed vessel. Sow such substancesare hydrocyanlcacid, carbonyl chloride,
cyanogen chloride gas, end xylyl bromide. For the piping eyscem classification
purposes of chls standard, ammenia, natural or manufacturedgas, eny liquefied
petroleumgas (euch as propane, butane, or bucadiene) and vapors of any ocher .
petroleum products are not claeslfied as lethal eubetarrcea.

3.3.1.11 DrganlzeclonInepeccor. The organizationinepectorshall be

the inepectorof e contractor,Naval ehipyard, or Government agency who has
been authorizedby the ornanizetionto inspect and accept or reject materials
and workmanshipaid to wi~ness tests and vslidote teec data. Ii pr0ce99,
