1. SITUATION OVERVIEW:
a.) Earthquake

 An earthquake of tectonic origin occurred at around 10:10AM, 22 February 2011 located at


14.12°N, 120.40°E-26 Km N 78°W of Nasugbu, Batangas with magnitude of 4.7 (Ms) and
117 km depth of focus.
 Reported intensities were felt at the following areas:
Intensity IV - Manila, Dasmarinas, Cavite
Intensity III - Quezon City, Pasig City and Pasay City
Intensity II –Looc, Lubang, Occidental Mindoro
Intensity I - San Fernando, Pampanga
 No aftershocks and damages are expected
b) Flashflood Incidents

Misamis Oriental Province (Region X)

 On or about 5:00AM, 22 February 2011, a flashflood incident occurred in the municipalities


of Lagonglong and Medina, due to continuous heavy rains that prevailed at the eastern part
of the province
 About 60 families/300 persons were affected: 10 families/50 persons in Brgy. Cabug,
Medina and 50 families/250 persons in Brgy. Dampil, Lagonglong. They are currently
staying in the designated evacuation centers.

Sarangani Province (Region XII)

 On or about 1:00AM, 22 February 2011, flashflood and whirlwind incidents occurred in Brgy.
Pangyan and Brgy. Burias, Glan, Sarangani due to continuous heavy rains
 One hundred three (103) families/515 persons were affected: 3 families/15 persons from
Brgy Pangyan and 100 families/500 persons from Brgy Burias whose houses were either
totally or partially damaged

2. ACTIONS TAKEN
Misamis Oriental (Region X)

 MDRRMC Medina distributed food assistance to the affected families thru the MSWDO
 MDRRMCs Lagonglong and Medina Response/Emergency Units were put on standby alert
status as bad weather is still being experienced in the area
 MDRRMC Lagonglong alerted other barangays such as Brgys Manaol, Lumbao,
Cambulawan, Dampil and Poblacion as heavy rains is still being experienced in the area

Sarangani Province (Region XII)


 MDRRMC Glan provided 7,000 food packs to the affected families
 PDRRMC Sarangani conducted ocular inspection/survey in the area
 LDRRMCs alerted their constituents to secure themselves from any adverse effect caused
by heavy rains prior to the incidents
