r Low Voltage Reactors

The increasing uses of modern power electronic apparatus are producing non-liner
current influences and load the network with harmonics pollution. The capacitor
forms a resonant with the feeding transformer (250-500Hz), it lead to overloading of
capacitor and transformer, interference, voltage distortion; etc. These can be
avoided by filter reactors.

The function of the reactors is to protect capacitors in low voltage power factor
correction systems.

The connection of these reactors in series with capacitors causes a shift of the
resonance frequency of the circuit composed by feeding transformer-reactors
capacitors, so that the resulting self-resonance frequency is well below the line
harmonics foreseen by the ENV 61000-2-2 standard.

Resonance would create undesired effects as overloading of capacitors,

transformer and transmission equipment, amplification of harmonics and voltage
distortion.

The reactors are connected in series with the capacitors to be protected and the
inductive reactance determines the self resonance frequency of the L-C circuit .The
locking factor P% is expressed by the ratio between inductive reactance and
capacitive reactance and it corresponds to the increase of voltage applied to
capacitors, with respect to line voltage .due to circulation of capacitive current in the
reactor.

GMC Low Voltage Contactors

CAPACITOR CONTACTOR of GMKPGMC can be used in 400-690V, AC,

50-60Hz up to control 60Kvar capacitors, when a capacitance is switched to an
AC system. The result is a resonant circuit damped to a greater or lesser
degree. In addition to the nominal current, the capacitor accepts a transient
current that is a multiple (as more then 200times) of its nominal current. Fast
switching, low-bounce contactors should be used.

Because of the leading contacts, the inrush current spikes (reverse

charging operations) are limited or damped by resistance wires.
These current spikes would lead to welding of the contactor’s main
contacts and they are also harmful for the capacitors. Reduction of the
inrush currents also avoids transients and voltage sags.

Leading contacts with a wiper function are used in these capacitor contactors, is
each leading contact is linked to the contactor yoke by a permanent magnet.
The leading contacts close before the main contacts and open when the main
contacts are with certainty closed. This feature of the capacitor contactors
guarantees effective, stable operation throughout useful life. The single
controlled leading contacts also enhance resistance to soiling during operation.

The capacitor contactors are suitable for direct switching of

low-inductance and low-loss capacitor banks (IEC 831, VDE 0560)
with or without detuning reactors. They feature leading auxiliary
switches and damping resistors to reduce peak inrush to<70* Iin
(inrush current). The capacitor contactors are weld inrush current of
200* Iin. The backup fuses gL (gG) should be scaled for 1.6 to 1.8* Iin
all capacitor contactors come with an auxiliary contact (normally
open).

Features
■Excellent damping of inrush current

■Improved power quality(e.g. avoidance of voltage sags)

■Longer useful life of main contacts of capacitor contactor

■Soft switching of capacitor and thus better useful life

■Enhanced mean lifetime of PFC system

Electric draw of 10-20Kva

■Reduced ohmic losses

■Leading contacts with wiper function

■High quality and long operation life

Reactive power compensation plants are used to decrease the load of cables and power
distributions caused by inductive currents and to save reactive power costs. The power factor
controller is a main part of such a plant and connects or disconnects capacitor stages
automatically. The power factor controller GMKPc800II is suitable for the use in conventional
or special dynamic reactive power compensation systems, and a mixed operation is possible
as well.

s Fuse Load Switch

The ability fuse GMKP's fuse for HRC's fuse switch, rising the short circuit
protects using in not having the merit compensating device. It can quickly,
safety and reliably ensures a good protection effect (can have three-phase or
single-phase selection).

Technology characteristics:

The micro switch can be joined in marriage by every switch and be linked with
the monitor system, sending out the switch circumstances signal has the lock to
close or the lead sealing hole. Also avoids the mistaken operation and is easy to
manage the switch.

The fuse is looked at the window and can be slides high and low. A direct
measuring during operating is possible, due using the prepared measuring
point trough the window side. The installation method is single-phase,
three-phase or many kinds of versions four look types.

It is used as a safety device for short circuit protection in PFC system and single
and three phases are available.

Active Harmonic Filters

Benefit

Working Principle:
Passive Harmonic Filter (PHF), a harmonic trap which is made of extremely low combination of reactance connected to the
Electronic element power line. Inductor and capacitor, and will trap the specific frequency spectrum harmonic current. Active Harmonic Filter
(AHF) It is a harmonic compensator, which is made of IGBT component and is actively monitor the harmonic spectrum and
amplitude in the power line. A reverse matching harmonic current will be injected to attenuate the active harmonic current
becoming sinusoidal waveform.

The ability of different Harmonics spectrum:

PHF, Individual harmonic LC trap is designed for different harmonic spectrum. AHF, High performance harmonic cancellation
from 2nd to 51st harmonic spectrum in a single Active Power Harmonic Filter.

Impact in variation of line impedance:

PHF, It has potential risk in resonance when line impedance varying within the power network (system). AHF, No impact by
changes of line impedance within the system.

Impact in power frequency variation:

PHF, Harmonic spectrum shifted from the designed harmonic trap, and eventually decreases the attenuation performance.
AHF, No impact in frequency variation, the Active Power Harmonic Filter instantly provides correct harmonic compensating
current even when frequency level changes.

Impact in excessive load increase:

PHF, Could lead to harmonic break down due to overload loading the LC harmonic filter. AHF, Active Power Harmonic Filter
will not breakdown, if overloading occurs. The current limitation protection in Active Harmonic Filter will absorb maximum
harmonic current and mains will take care the balance harmonic current.

Physical size:
PHF, Bigger (3) Big in size, AHF, Smaller (1), Compact in size and can be wall mounted in some power ratings. 100% load,
Ithd[8%,50% % load Ithd[14%10% load, Ithd[17% All be keep in the Ithd < 5%
