•HALL ROOF: The Finance and Property Committee is grateful to all who have donated so
far to our fund. To date, you have generoulsy donated $5,508.92. I wish to acknowledge
the students of St. Thomas the Apostle School who took up the challenge mentioned in
the recent parish bulletin. The donation made to us at the end of Mass last weekend was
from their Valentine’s Day celebration draw. The funds raised are being donated to the
parish roof.
The cost of this repair is expensive. The roof was installed in the mid-sixties as the restoration
of the building after the fire. The large hall roof was replaced a few years ago. Since the roof
was leaking and causing interior damage it was urgent to move on it. Waiting for the summer
was not an option due to our need to use the hall. The roof was not only repaired but, in
essence, rebuilt. The flashing is yet to be done but is included in the cost.
The roof on the rectory and garage are now the only ones left from the original
construction in the mid-sixties.
• BONNECHERE MANOR: “Hat’s off and thanks to our Manor volunteers”. You assist greatly
in extending our parish to the aged who have been so much a part of our church. A special
thanks to JEAN LYNCH. Recently, we celebrated her 30 plus years of ministry. As Jean
retires from her service we wish her God’s blessing for all that she gave.
•NEW PARISHIONERS: We always welcome new people to our parish. Your presence amongst us
affords us the richness of your talents and gifts to share with others. And so, please register with
the parish and let us know of your concerns, interests and past experience. Registration forms are
available at the office or after any celebration.
•MINISTRY REGISTRATION FORMS: We are very blessed to have so many to share in such a
variety of ministries here at St. Francis. It is time to review our screening program as mandated
by our Diocese. If you have not filled in a form, please pick one up in the sacristy or parish office.
A volunteer is needed to review our files on Parish Ministries. It should take but a few hours. If
you would be willing to assist with this project please inform the office.
HOSPITALITY MINISTERS: Your warm and receptive presence to people is primary to your role at
Mass. One of the tasks of your ministry is the presentation of the gifts at the Offertory. However,
presenting the gifts of bread and wine on behalf of the community and the gifts gathered at the
collection are necessary to facilitate the Liturgy. To keep a nice flow to the Mass, we encourage
you to focus on the timing of presenting the gifts and perhaps leaving the tidying up until after
the procession. We are, on occasion, waiting unnecessarily for your presentation.
