The

ministry
of the
Holy
Spirit
Friday 4 March 2011
1 Corinthians 2: 6-16
Yet among the mature we do impart
wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of
this age or of the rulers of this age, who
are doomed to pass away. But we impart
a secret and hidden wisdom of God,
which God decreed before the ages for
our glory. None of the rulers of this age
understood this, for if they had, they
would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

But, as it is written,
"What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who
love him"—
these things God has revealed to us
through the Spirit. For the Spirit
searches everything, even the depths of
God.

For who knows a person’s thoughts
except the spirit of that person, which is
in him? So also no one comprehends the
thoughts of God except the Spirit of
God. Now we have received not the
spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is
from God, that we might understand the
things freely given us by God.

Friday 4 March 2011

And we impart this in words not taught by
human wisdom but taught by the Spirit,
interpreting spiritual truths to those who are
spiritual.
The natural person does not accept the
things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly
to him, and he is not able to understand
them because they are spiritually discerned.
The spiritual person judges all things, but is
himself to be judged by no one.

"For who has understood the mind of
the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we
have the mind of Christ.

Revelation
...these things God
has revealed to us
through the Spirit.

Ps 36:9
For with you is the
fountain of life; in your
light do we see light.

Eph 1:17-18
I keep asking that the God of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the
glorious Father, may give you
the Spirit of wisdom and
revelation, so that you may
know him better. I pray that
the eyes of your heart may be
enlightened in order that you
may know the hope to which
he has called you, the riches
of his glorious inheritance in
his holy people,

"Two different realms: one is that of doctrine
- the other is that of revelation. The first
can be attained with a little effort, a little
cleverness and a little eloquence. The
second is beyond human ability."
"There is a word in the Bible which is
beyond Greek or Hebrew - it is the word
which all ministers seek to know. It is the
word of God."
"It takes a strong and rich mind to fix the
light."
Watchman Nee

Peter - “You are the Christ”
Us - 2 Cor 3:18
And we all, with unveiled face,
beholding the glory of the
Lord, are being transformed
into the same image from one
degree of glory to another. For
this comes from the Lord who
is the Spirit.

Understanding

....no one comprehends the thoughts of

God except the Spirit of God. Now we
have received not the spirit of the world,
but the Spirit who is from God, that we
might understand the things freely given
us by God.

Psalm 119:130
The unfolding of your words
gives light; it imparts
understanding to the simple.
1 Chronicles 12:32
Of Issachar, men who had
understanding of the times,
to know what Israel ought to
do, 200 chiefs, and all their
kinsmen under their
command.
Friday 4 March 2011
Eph 5:8-10
For you were once darkness, but now
you are light in the Lord. Live as children
of light (for the fruit of the light consists
in all goodness, righteousness and truth)
and find out what pleases the Lord.

Communication
This is what we
speak, not in words
taught us by human
wisdom but in
words taught by
the Spirit,
expressing spiritual
truths in spiritual
words. (NIV)

Friday 4 March 2011

Acts 6:4
But we will devote
ourselves to prayer
and to the ministry
of the word.

Friday 4 March 2011

2 Cor 3:5,6
Not that we are sufficient in
ourselves to claim anything
as coming from us, but our
sufficiency is from God,
who has made us
competent to be ministers
of a new covenant, not of
the letter but of the Spirit.
For the letter kills, but the
Spirit gives life.

Discernment
The natural person does
not accept the things of
the Spirit of God, for
they are folly to him, and
he is not able to
understand them
because they are
spiritually discerned. The
spiritual person judges
all things, but is himself
to be judged by no one.

Ananias & Saphirra - Acts 5
Slave girl & Paul - Acts 16:18
...this she kept doing for many days.
Paul, having become greatly annoyed,
turned and said to the spirit, "I command
you in the name of Jesus Christ to come
out of her." And it came out that very
hour.

Instruction

"For who has

understood the mind
of the Lord so as to
instruct him?" But
we have the mind of
Christ.

Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the
left, your ears will hear a voice behind
you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
John 15:15
No longer do I call you servants, for the
servant does not know what his master is
doing; but I have called you friends, for
all that I have heard from my Father I
have made known to you.

Romans 8:13-14
For if you live according
to the flesh you will die,
but if by the Spirit you
put to death the deeds
of the body, you will live.
For all who are led by
the Spirit of God are
sons of God.
