Select RUN.
Press ENTER.
Follow the instructions displayed on your screen to proceed with the installation of Tally.ERP 9.
3.2. In the Tally.ERP 9 Setup section, you can accept the default directories as shown or
click on the buttons provided next to the respective text boxes to change the path of
Application Directory, Data Directory, Configuration Directory and Language
Directory.
3.2.4. Language Directory – by default the Language files with the extension .dct are
stored in the application directory.
4. Click Next.
6. By default, India/SAARC appears in the Country Selection. Select Others if you are not
residing in India or any of the SAARC countries.
7. Click Install
Note: In case you click Cancel or do not have the operating system CD, The language support
will not be available.
To start the Tally.ERP 9 application, double click the Tally.ERP 9 icon on the desktop.
Note: In case you are continuing the Installation of License Server after having installed
Tally.ERP 9 on Server machine by clicking Continue, the Installation Setup screen displays as
shown:
Click on Install
Procedure to Install Tally.ERP 9 License Server (in case you had closed the Setup wizard
after having installed Tally.ERP 9 on the Server machine)
You can install Tally.ERP 9 License Server using one of the following methods.

Follow the instructions displayed on your screen to proceed with the installation of Tally.ERP 9.
5. Accept the default License Server Directory and Port Number or enter the required
License Server Directory name and Port Number in the Tally.ERP 9 setup screen.
Note: The Port number provided during installation is captured and displayed as a parameter to
LicServerPort in the Tally.ini file.
6. Click Install.
7. The Setup status is displayed as shown.
8. Once the installation process is completed, the Installation Successful screen is displayed
as shown.
9. Click Finish to complete the installation process.

click on the buttons provided next to the respective text boxes to change the
Application Directory, Data Directory, Configuration Directory and the
Language Directory.
3.2.2. Data Directory – The Tally.ERP data is stored in the path C:\Tally.ERP 9\Data,
by default. The user can change the data directory by clicking on the button
provided next to the text box and type in the new path.
3.2.3. Configuration Directory – The configuration files reside in the Application
Directory, by default. Specify the path if you want the files to be saved elsewhere on
your system.
3.2.4. Language Directory – The language files (.dct) are stored in the application
directory, by default.
4. Enter the Name/IP Address of the Tally.ERP License Server and port number in the Port
field. This will enable the Tally.ERP Client to establish a connection with the license server
using the dedicated port.
5. Click on Next.
Note: To use Tally.ERP 9 in English, uncheck Install Operating Systems Language Support

13. In the installer screen, click Finish to complete the Tally.ERP 9 Setup.
On the successful installation of Tally.ERP 9, double click on the Tally.ERP 9 icon on the
desktop. to start Tally.ERP 9
Now Copy your Data folder and share it. To share right click on the folder and use
“Sharing and Security”. Check the field “Share this Folder and also check on “Allow
network users to change my files”.
Once this is done you go to Tally.ERP 9 :-> Use F12 From Gateway of Tally:-> Data
configuration:-> Location of data files:-> here you have to mention the data path where
that is located. For example \\Server\Data.
