The corporate world today needs the expert and efficient human resource and for that

they conduct various kinds of tests and interviews. The most common thing they do is

the employee test. The employee tests include the various kinds of questions related to

work or job which they are going to do at the organization. It includes the tests of the

candidate's personal skills as well as the test of their integrity.

The current process of testing in the company is through the use of the so called Ơtest

papersơ. The test papers are given to the applicants for them to answer at a certain

period of time. After the test, the papers will then be checked by the test administrator

and the result will be encoded in a respective file in the computer.

Test papers are now being complained as a plain boring and awful thing. Use of test

papers lessens the credibility and relevance of the assessment due to some problems

such as leakage, cheating and errors in checking being experienced. Untimed tests also

result in uniform scores among the applicants that show the loss of integrity which is

the primary criteria for hiring. The applicant assessment system will help the company

in selecting outstanding applicants thru their tests that will be taken in the system.

   !!

The researchers aim to develop an applicant assessment system that can be used in the

companyƞs applicant examinations. The system is network-based.

The completion of the system will somehow help the company in selecting the best

among the applicants and also in generating direct results.

"!#

The purpose of this study is to develop an applicant assessment system with the

following features:

!p Accurate and timed exam.

!p Interactive/real-time exam.

!p  ill give fast and accurate results.

$!%!!

This study is about a network-based applicant assessment system for Stream Global

Services, Inc. that will be used in their applicant examination. The system will also

generate reports to be used for their future reference.

This will be developed using Microsoft Visual  eb Developer and MS Access. A

computer set with at least Microsoft XP and MS Office installation and LAN will also be

required and used for the development of the system.

The Apache web server is a very popular, open source, public-domain  eb server. It is

the most widely used  eb server on the Internet. Originally designed for UNIX servers,

it can now also run under  indows and other platforms. The Apache  eb server

provides a range of features including CGI, SSL, and virtual domains. The availability of

the source code makes it possible for anyone to adapt the server for specific needs.

Apache supports a variety of features, many implemented as compiled modules which

extend the core functionality. These can range from server-side programming language

support to authentication schemes. It is a web server software notable for playing a key

role in the initial growth of the  orld  ide  eb. In 2009 it became the first web server

software to surpass the 100 million web site milestone.

The Apache  eb server provides a full range of  eb server features, including CGI,

SSL, and virtual domains. Apache also supports plug-in modules for extensibility.

Apache is reliable, free, and relatively easy to configure.

HTML, which stands for HyperText Markup Language, is the predominant markup

language for web pages. HTML is the basic building-blocks of webpages. A markup

language is a set of markup tags, and HTML uses markup tags to describe web pages.

HTML is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of tags, enclosed in angle

brackets (like <html>), within the web page content. HTML tags normally come in pairs

like <h1> and </h1>. The first tag in a pair is the start tag, the second tag is the end

tag (they are also called opening tags and closing tags).

The purpose of a web browser is to read HTML documents and compose them into

visual or audible web pages. The browser does not display the HTML tags, but uses the

tags to interpret the content of the page.

HTML elements form the building blocks of all websites. HTML allows images and

objects to be embedded and can be used to create interactive forms. It provides a

means to create structured documents by denoting structural semantics for text such as

headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes and other items. It can embed scripts in

languages such as JavaScript which affect the behavior of HTML webpages.

eb browsers can also refer to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to define the appearance

and layout of text and other material. The  3C, maintainer of both the HTML and the

CSS standards, encourages the use of CSS over explicitly presentational HTML markup.

C# language is intended to be a simple, modern, general-purpose, object-oriented

programming language. The language, and implementations thereof, should provide

support for software engineering principles such as strong type checking, array bounds

checking, detection of attempts to use uninitialized variables, and automatic garbage

collection. Software robustness, durability, and programmer productivity are important.

intended for use in developing software components suitable for deployment in

distributed environments.

Source code portability is very important, as is programmer portability, especially for

those programmers already familiar with C and C++. Support for internationalization is

very important. C# is intended to be suitable for writing applications for both hosted

andembedded systems, ranging from the very large that use sophisticated operating

systems, down to the very small having dedicated functions.

Visual  eb Developer Express is a freeware web development tool that allows

developers to evaluate the web development and editing capabilities of the other Visual

Studio 2008 editions at no charge. Its main function is to create ASP.NET websites. It

has a   SI  G interface, drag-and-drop user interface designer, enhanced HTML and

code editors, a (limited) database explorer, support for other web technologies (e.g.,

CSS, JavaScript, XML), and integrated, design-time validation for standards including

XHTML 1.0/1.1 and CSS 2.1.

Visual Studio 2005 lacks certain features, such as the Accessibility Checker, the ability

to create standalone Class Library Projects (which can be done by the other language-

specific Express Editions), the extensibility support necessary to load third-party add-

ins, macros and some other features.

Visual Studio 2008 Express  eb Developer SP1 supports both class library and  eb

Application projects, which were not supported in Visual Studio 2005 Express. It also

includes a new integrated HTML designer based on Microsoft Expression  eb.

However, the functionality to publish self-developed websites is not present in this

edition.

) / is an operating system that was produced by Microsoft for use

on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, and media

centers. It was first released in August 2001, and is the most popular version

of  indows, based on installed user base. The name "XP" is short for "eXPerience."

According to web analytics data generated by  3Schools, as of December 2010,

indows XP is the most widely used operating system for accessing the Internet in the

world with a 47.2% market share, having peaked at 76.1% in January 2007.

ASP.NET web pages or webpage, known officially as "web forms", are the main building

block for application development.[8]  eb forms are contained in files with an ".aspx"

extension; these files typically contain static (X)HTMLmarkup, as well as markup

defining server-side  eb Controls and User Controls where the developers place all the

required static and dynamic content for the web page. Additionally, dynamic code which

runs on the server can be placed in a page within a block <% -- dynamic code -- %>,

which is similar to other web development technologies such asPHP, JSP, and ASP.

ith ASP.NET Framework 2.0, Microsoft introduced a new code-behind model which

allows static text to remain on the .aspx page, while dynamic code remains in an

.aspx.vb or .aspx.cs file (depending on the programming language used).[9]

Microsoft recommends dealing with dynamic program code by using the code-behind

model, which places this code in a separate file or in a specially designated script tag.

Code-behind files typically have names like MyPage.aspx.cs orMyPage.aspx.vb while the

page file is MyPage.aspx (same filename as the page file (ASPX), but with the final

extension denoting the page language). This practice is automatic inMicrosoft Visual

Studio and other IDEs.  hen using this style of programming, the developer writes

code to respond to different events, like the page being loaded, or a control being

clicked, rather than a procedural walk through of the document.

ASP.NET's code-behind model marks a departure from Classic ASP in that it encourages

developers to build applications with separation of presentation and content in mind. In

theory, this would allow a web designer, for example, to focus on the design markup

with less potential for disturbing the programming code that drives it. This is similar to

the separation of the controller from the view in ModelƛViewƛController (MVC)

frameworks.

According to  ikipedia, a + is a computer network that

connects computers and devices in a limited geographical area such as home, school,

computer laboratory or office building.[1]The defining characteristics of LANs, in contrast

to wide area networks ( ANs), include their usually higher data-transfer rates, smaller

geographic area, and lack of a need for leased telecommunication lines.

According to ebrainsoft.com, a LAN-Based system is launched within a network and

does not require internet connection for end user to apply.
