A special event added to the 2011
IWKA World tournament in honor and
memory of Sensei John C. Lennox, 8th
Dan (2/12/18 - 10/30/98). Competitors
will perform a kata selected from a
“hat” when they bow into the ring. Kata
include: Seisan, Seiuchin, Nahanchie,
Wansu, Chinto, Kusanku and Sunsu.
Sensei Lennox taught that karate students
should consistently practice and perfect
all their kata, not just the one(s) preferred
or chosen for competition.

A spectator is anyone attending the
tournament who is not one of the
following: Competitor, Judge, Designated
VIP, Scorekeeper or Volunteer

Mini Seminars - $25

A two hour block of 1/2 hour seminars
led by Black Belt instructors on
Thursday afternoon. Two Seminars
will run simultaneously allowing
participants to choose which seminars
they wish to attend. Seminar topics
will be posted on our website.

Hanchi Duessel Seminar
Brown & Black Belts - $20
($25 after April 30th)
Hanchi William H. Duessel is a 9th
degree Black Belt, and is the highest
States. He was promoted to Shodan
directly from Isshinryu founder, Master
Tatsuo Shimabuku, and has over
50 years of Martial Arts training.
Mudoball - $5
Mudoball is a fun recreational game
with similarities to volleyball. It is a
favorite activity in the Indy Bushido
dojo. This event will be an informal
tournament, on Thursday evening
following Hanchi Duessel’s seminar.
It will begin around 7:30 PM. Teams
will be formed at random and will
consist of about 6-8 players. Mudoball
was created at the Mudokwan where
Sensei John C. Lennox taught.
No experience or prior knowledge
is necessary to participate, but rules
for Mudoball will be posted on our
website, www.iwka2011.com.
