Welcome to Supanova 2011
Sydney and Perth!
Australia’s fastest growing
pop culture and media event
Supanova is back, spanning the continent as we present the 2011 Sydney & Perth
expos. As Australia’s premiere Pop Culture Expo, the festival atmosphere of the
events celebrates film, music, television, gaming, comics, illustration, design, costuming,
technology and anime culture, showcasing talent, products and services of these
genres to a targeted market of enthusiasts whether they’re professionals or
consumers. The “East/West” Tour is an incredibly powerful promotional opportunity
that focuses in on the largest markets on either coast in Australia.
Sydney 2010 had an amazing 16,400 fans join us at our physically biggest event, a
massive 9,600m2 at the Sydney Showgrounds. That was an increase of nearly 4,000
fans compared to 2009 and catapulted the event to our second largest attendance
ever after our Brisbane 2010 event. Perth was also amazing with a 2010 attendance
of 12,200 fans at the Claremont Showgrounds as it continues to break all our records
as the fastest growing of our events. In combining those attendances with Brisbane
and Melbourne’s similarly excellent 2010 figures, Supanova’s attendance in 2010 grew
a staggering 30% (or 52% in two years since 2008) with 58,500 fans attending our
four expos!
We have TV, magazine, radio, newspaper and street distribution campaigns to
complement our significant online presence with an accessible and interactive website
that includes 7,000 e-News fans; 13,000+ members on Facebook and 1,800+ Twitter
followers. Additional to that above the line activity we have an 160,000 copy
magazines, over 300,000 flyers, 3,000 posters, and more distributed through our
promotional partners. The result: Supanova has established itself as a hub for fans who
love to keep in touch with developments year round, resulting in opportunities to
promote and advertise outside our expo dates.  This means even greater exposure
for our exhibitors, sponsors, affiliates and supporters.
In other developments a new online ticketing system is being custom made for our
events so that the massive surge of interest in our guests can be appropriately
managed especially since the marquee nature of our Supa-Stars continues to build.
Sydney 2011 in particular will further embed the amazing expansion seen last year,
and in Perth we’ve doubled our showroom floor by expanding into the adjacent
Silver Jubilee Pavilion to deal with the demand both exhibitors and fans alike are
placing on the space.
Further we’re very pleased to announce that the Madman National Cosplay
Championships, whose heats are held at each state’s Supanova events in
conjunction with AV-Con in Adelaide, will continue its amazing growth into 2011. The
calibre of entrants each year continues to inspire, and the support of Madman
Entertainment has been invaluable in the continued success of this competition and
of Supanova, and their recognition around the world.
We look forward to you seeing again, or for the first time, as we continue forward on
an epic journey in 2011 that will both build and consolidate the incredible exponential
growth that the Supanova Pop Culture Expo is undergoing as ten years’ worth of
domestic expo experience, savvy and hard work materialise in the form of
outstanding results for all involved.

In the two years since 2008 every

single Supanova Expo’s attendance
has grown a minimum of 49.2%!
