Transvestite Republicans?

May 8, 2011

Put The Heat On A RINO Monday Night

Alright, I need everyone to look very closely at the next two pictures.   Is the same kind of
guy!   Someone tell me if I've got this wrong so we can correct it...  : )

Glen Mulready and Family

An example of a TR
(Transvestite Republican)

Hey, don't laugh, this will make sense once you read the rest of the story

Glen Mulready, Representative from House District 68 up near Tulsa, must have ambitions
beyond being a Representative because he is speaking tomorrow night here in Oklahoma City.
Mulready is renowned for being especially loud and active for a freshman legislator, most
respect their peers enough to watch and learn the first session.   No doubt the boy sees himself in
the Governor's mansion in a few years and is out to make a name for himself.

Well, he is off to a good start.   First he voted against the Charles Key amendment to HR 1008
which lead to the defeat of almost every liberty minded bill and conservative bill filed this year
including the TSA agent control bill, the Open Carry bills, the better property tax control bills,
the bill that would have made Obama Care null and void, and the various 10th Amendment bills.
That vote earned him the title "RINO", Republican In Name Only.

Next Glen Mulready became a founding member of the Short Bus Caucus, so named for their
lack of common sense and respect for the citizens of Oklahoma after they attacked the Tea Party
in a Republican Caucus meeting.   When the word got out that the Sooner Tea Party was privy to
what was said in the caucus meetings the wailing and gnashing of teeth ensued!  Oh, they wailed,
how can we trust our colleagues after this?  As if the majority of them would turn their back on
each other as it is.

Next Glen had the honor of voting not once, not twice, but four times for HB 2130, the Obama
Care/Fallin Care implimentation bill that has been shot down already!   Glen just doesn't seem to
understand, the vast majority of Oklahomans do not want an increase in the government
involvement in our medical care in any form or fashion.

One would think that would be enough mischief for Glen but no, Glen just had to outdo himself
last week when he voted for allowing a recipient of a sex change operation to go back and have a
new birth certificate made that proclaimed "he/she" as now a "she/he".   Makes one wonder if
Glen is planning on being our second woman Governor?  In fairness, the original bill was
modified after it failed the first time, to add the word "amended" to the birth certificate.  Perhaps
Glen should add "amended" to his Republican Party affiliation?  Shall we nickname Glen the
"Amended Representative" or the "transvestite Representative"?  That got me thinking, one of
my favorite sayings is that words do have meanings, so I looked up the actual definition of
transvestite:

"a person, especially a male, who assumes the dress and manner usually associated with the
opposite sex."

Now stay with me on this!  Change one word in that definition, "sex" for "party affiliation", and
you have a really good case for labeling renegade Republicans as transvestites instead of
RINOs.  I'm liking this idea!

Anyway, once again showing a complete lack of common sense that earned him the honor of
becoming a Short Bus Caucus member, Glen has been foolish enough to book an appearance at a
Republican women's club here in OKC.  Were I he, and had I his voting record, I'd park my car
close to the capitol office, tint the windows heavily, and not go out for groceries once I got
home.   There might be method to his madness though, perhaps Glen is going there to get
makeup tips from the ladies should he decide to run for governor as a woman?   And is it
just me, or is it suspicious that he would marry such a lovely lady that just happened to be close
to his height?

Regardless of his motivation, this will be  a prime opportunity to let one member of the
Oklahoma House of Representatives hear your opposition to Obama Care/Fallin Care Health
Insurance Exchanges.    Show up, I'll be there with copies of his voting record.

Is the proper term really Trasvestite Republicans?  How many of them are
there?

* in the interest of full disclosure, that is NOT Guy Liebman pictured above

I like to give credit where credit is due, it helps bring in new ideas and new activists when you
give them credit for their ideas.  Well, I've decided to ask our group to make Rep Glen Mulready
an honorary member of the Sooner Tea Party!  See, without Glen's antics, I would have never
discovered this amazing little fact about that original failed vote for amending sex change birth
certificates.  Reviewing the voting record on the issue, I noticed that even after the controversy
was discovered that would have allowed the birth certificates to be re created and erased all
evidence of their original gender (uh, maybe I'm going a bit far here...), these Republicans still
voted for the original bill!

Oh my goodness!  A dozen TRs, Transvestite Republicans.   Shall we name them the
Transvestite Republican Caucus?  Or should it be named the Glen Mulready memorial
Transvestite Republican Caucus?

I see another round of post cards going into their House Districts.    Can't keep this news from
the voters.

Oh No They Didn't!
Are they really bringing back the twice defeated Obama Care/Fallin Care
Health Insurance Exchanges?

Yeah, as Forrest Gump's momma said, "stupid is as stupid does".  The Republican House and
Senate leaders are once again bringing back the twice failed Obama Care/Fallin Care language
hidden inside SB  2130, a newly-created appropriations bill, SB 971.   It was introduced on the
27th of last month.

On Saturday, the Oklahoma GOP voted to amend the party platform to reject all forms of
government insurance exchanges.  Will this give Mary Fallin pause or will she continue to flail
away till she gets something through?  One wonders just how indebted she is to the Chamber of
Commerce crowd to put up with this much punishment?

We will watch this bill and do our best to warn people in time to be able to call or email to
demand they stop this third attempt.  But it would be an excellent idea to go ahead and
contact them now to head this off!    Use the same contact info below for the House and this
list below for the Senate:

2011 GOP Convention Results
Here is an excellent writeup on the 2011 GOP State Convention.  I hate to link to the Oklahoman
so please don't click on any links!  No use giving them any ad revenue.

Politics can be nasty business.  However, if good people don't stay engaged, then it is run by the
nasty people.   One extraordinary event that occurred was when the Chairman of Cleveland
County, Bobby Cleveland, had the gall to stand up and challenge the right of Representative
Charles Key to introduce a lady running for the Vice Chair of the GOP.  Key had arrived five
minutes late to the convention so he didn't "qualify" as a delegate despite being an elected
Representative of over 33,000 citizens.   So Key didn't get a little paper and plastic sign to hang
around his neck for the convention.   Strangely enough, neither did Mary Fallin or the guest
speaker from Florida that represented the national GOP organization, yet they were allowed to
speak.

As you digest the votes, understand that for the past several years the RINO Republican
leadership has funneled the conservatives into the Platform committee rather than allow them to
sit on the Rules or Credentials committees.   Their thinking was that they could sideline the
conservatives in a committee where they couldn't touch the reins of power, ensuring the could
continue to control the party.  Well, it is blowing back in their faces as the Platform has become
an excellent representation of Oklahoman values while the elected officials continue to refuse to
follow it.  As Bobby Cleveland, the Chairman of Cleveland County GOP told me last year at one
of the Tom Cole Town Hall meetings, to them the party platform is just marketing fluff.

Also understand that when newcomers arrive, the old guard circles the wagons, they don't want
anyone taking over!   But the average GOP delegate began to see the light as the convention ran
on.   The establishment was able to defeat the rules that would have forced GOP elected officials
to follow the party platform on four key issues or be censured by the state GOP, rules changes
designed to move the precinct meeting out of February because of the almost sure chance of bad
weather, and a rule that would have forced elected GOP party officials to maintain neutrality in
the primary races (one would think they would out of integrity).  Those votes were lost by
around 281 to 415, a 67% margin.   But, as the day wore on, the delegates wised up!

The GOP RINO establishment suffered major blows when two amendments passed.  The first
amendment told Republican elected officials that we were against bio metric quality enhanced
photographs on our drivers licenses, opting for a regular, excellent quality photograph that
couldn't be used by automatic video systems to ID individuals driving down the road, walking
down the street, or in crowds.  Only Big Brother wants to ID people like that!  Yet the RINOs
just couldn't bring themselves to vote against the Chamber of Commerce on this issue.  But they
got their tail whipped 333 to 195, a 58% margin in our favor!  One thing that happened that was
especially telling was watching Rod Cleveland, Bobby Cleveland's own son vote against his dad
on this issue.  Bobby Cleveland's face was nearly purple from anger over his son going against
him!

The rule to go against Obama Care/Fallin Care Health Insurance Exchanges won by the same
margins.  What a slap in the face for Fallin!  Losing the platform vote on her only major goal for
this session.

One of the highlights of the convention for me was when RINO Representative Charles Ortega
walked up and introduced himself, saying he hadn't forgotten getting labeled as a Short Bus
Caucus member.  Never one to waste an opportunity, I asked if he would be supporting the HR
1004 bill, to which he said "not likely".  I replied that we would be spending more time on his
House District if that was the case.  I want you to consider his choice of words, "not likely".
You or I would have said "Hell no!"   But Rep Ortega is at the point where he isn't quite sure
what he will do and it slipped out in his choice of words.  See a politician just doesn't know what
he will do until he finds himself in a tight spot.  Few of us do if we don't have a solid moral
compass guiding our actions and thoughts.

Another exchange was when a highly ranked Republican approached me to say hello.  After
some pleasantries, I reminded him that I was privy to everything said and done in the GOP
caucus meetings at the capitol.   After a pause, he said "Al, I never said your name!"   Letting
him squirm a bit got the rest of the story out of him, confirmation of the reports that the GOP
caucus feared the Sooner Tea Party so much that our name was brought up four times in one
meeting.   I cut the guy some slack though, he is in a tough leadership position at the capitol and
he might have to do one thing in public and another in private.  Let's just be grateful that he is on
the fence, an unwilling participant in a charade.   Let the other elected officials believe he isn't on
our side, it costs us nothing and provides him great cover.

I was impressed with the general fairness of the Convention chairman and parliamentarian and of
course the fairness of GOP Chair Matt Pinell.   Despite the election of Pam Pollard, a notorious
RINO and GOP party hack, I believe that Matt will continue to keep the RINOs from gutting the
rules and excluding real Republicans from being involved in the GOP here in Oklahoma.  God
bless him, I believe he is all that is standing between complete failure of the GOP in 2012 from
abusing the mandate we handed them in 2010.  There are lots of great county chairmen and vice
chairs, and lots of new faces working their way into power at the state GOP but without someone
keeping the old guard honest, the bad will continue to drive out the good.

HR 1004,  House Rule Changes, the Final Push

Back on opening day of the legislative Session, we were defeated by the adoption of new House
rules that gutted representative government and allowed bills to be killed in committee by one
man.

Next week the Discharge Petition should begin making the rounds of the legislators and if we get
68 to sign it (I'm betting that Glen Mulready won't!) the way will be cleared for our freedom,
liberty, and constitutional bills to be heard next year.  Other activists are flooding in wanting to
hit the RINO Representatives in their areas to help force them to do the right thing.  So far we
have had commitments from Comanche, Cimarron, Cleveland, and Tulsa Counties but more
troops will be needed to cover their House Districts before it is too late.  Please volunteer to help
us walk these precincts.  Two people and a driver can cover around 600 to 900 houses per hour
depending on how dense the neighborhoods are.   On Sunday, we had two teams working, so we
made a serious dent in Jason Nelson's District, adding to what we got done last week.

The feedback has been great.  I met two elderly ladies today and after explaining what we were
doing they both said "That nice young man around the corner?"   I asked if they supported
Obama Care, both looked at me like I was mad, then I explained that Nelson voted  four times
for the implementation of Obama Care through Fallin's Health Insurance Exchanges.  Another
lady called, said she was  liberal, but after a bit of comparing the issues and our stances, she
agreed to give the boy a good talking to.  One poor lady called and said she supported Nelson, as
he was a good Democrat.  I just didn't have the heart to tell her that Nelson was a Republican.
Then again, perhaps she knew better than I did.

You can help out by doing two things that won't take but ten minutes of your time.

 Call your legislators early this week or call now and leave a message
 Email them right now and demand they support HJR and HR 1004

Here is a link to find out who your legislator is:

Here is a list of House members the ones at the top of the lists are RINOs, so don't be gentle with
them.  Those after Tommy Hardin are the good guys ON THIS ISSUE, gently encourage them to
lobby other legislators to approve the bills:
