This document briefs you the step by step approach to upgrade a repository and web catalog (Reports
and Dashboards) from OBIEE 10g to OBIEE 11g using Oracle Fusion Middleware Upgrade Assistance
Utility and post upgrade check-ins.

2). Choose and note down the name of repository and the web catalog (Dashboard Reports),
credential (login information) you want to upgrade.
Accounts is the catalog and group name. It contains the Financial Analysis dashboard.
8. The dashboard reports with its entire tab in OBIEE 10g looks like this.
Physical Path where the OBIEE 10g Web Catalog (Dashboard Reports) is located. Here the Dashboard and
other saved requests are saved inside sample sales catalog
E:\OracleBIData\web\catalog\samplesales\root\shared\accounts\_portal\finan
cial+analysis
The saved requests are in Essbase Folder and the Dashboard is in accounts Financial Analysis.
10. If rpd (repository) is migrated from another system or server than also take backup of
database from data source and configure, restore for OBIEE 11g data source.
14. Select Upgrade Oracle BI and Presentation Catalog and click on Next button.
You can make selection as per your requirement like to upgrade scheduler schema, Publisher repository
etc.
Select Upgrade Repository (RPD) and Upgrade Catalog (web catalog) browse the path, enter the login
credentials of rpd in 10g and new password for 11g.
With port number and Credentials which are used to start the Oracle Business Intelligence BI Services.
18. Next screen will show the upgrade summary, check the directory path of rpd and web catalog you
have entered in RPD & Catalog section.
20. After completing 100% of upgrade process a Succeeded message will come and close button
will enable. Click on next button to complete upgrade.
In upgrade complete screen you can see the path of log file where it is saved named post
upgrade. Click close button to close the Upgrade Assistance Utility
22. After upgrade the new rpd will automatically configure into Enterprise Manager (EM).Now
Stop BI Services and verify the upgrade. Open the rpd into Administration Tool using new password.
23. Check the settings of connection pool, change the server name, shred logon user name and password
and others if require to connect rpd with data source. Check view data property over physical tables
and columns.
25). To enable the rpd for query after upgrade from OBIEE 10g to OBIEE 11g, create a similar
system DSN (ODBC) for connection with data source.
26. Check global consistency and save rpd and Start the BI Services Again.
27. Login into Oracle Enterprise manager and check rpd is configured or not, if not then configure
and deploy.(Within upgrade process the rpd get configure into enterprise manager automatically)
29. Login into Enterprise Manager: - Select Business Intelligence coreapplication, check application
role name (groups of 10g rpd) and members.
32. All above steps satisfied that means your rpd (Metadata) and web catalog (Dashboard
Reports) are successfully upgraded from OBIEE 10g to OBIEE 11g with all their properties and
available to get more reports on that.
