WEDNESDAY 8 JUNE 2011 – 12.15 for 12.30pm
The Company has a long association with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The Master
seeks your support for an event which is aimed at raising a donation to support the work of
the Tower Pier Lifeboat Station with whom we have established close links. So that we can
maximize the value of our contribution, the Directors of Rolfe Judd have kindly allowed the
use of the Ardwina and a low cost lunch with wine has been arranged. So that you can both
enjoy the company of your colleagues and get CPD points, the Master has arranged a talk by
Adrian Barlow ‐ a Senior Member of Wolfson College, Cambridge and a lecturer in English
and Architecture for the Institute of Continuing Education. His subject will be Charles Eamer
Kempe and GF Bodley.
Kempe, (1837 ‐ 1907) was a famous Victorian designer who studied architecture with the firm
of George Frederick Bodley, where he learned the art of decorating church walls and ceilings
and developed an interest in stained glass, opening studios in London and Sussex, supplying
not only stained glass for Bodley's firm but also furnishings and vestments.
Admission will be by ticket that have been priced at a modest £30.00 to allow a
generous donation to the RNLI. As accommodation is limited (absolute maximum 30)
early booking on the form below is recommended. Guests are limited to one per
member and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
