Where do you see yourself?

As the pastor of your congregation, how many times have you had these thoughts?
• “I have volunteers doing jobs they are not qualified or trained to do!”
• “How hard is it to produce accurate financial reports?”
• “Why do I have to do everything myself? I need help ...no, good competent help!”
• “It costs too much to hire competent outside help for ministry projects ... what can I do?”
• “I need a raise ...what’s the best approach to take?”

As a volunteer working within a ministry, how many times have you had
these thoughts?
• “What’s the latest and newest technology available that would help our
ministry grow?”
• “What are the latest IRS regulations so we stay in compliance?”
• “Chain of command . . . what’s that?”

“ Got an opening for such a person?

CCFM

The Center for Church Financial Management (CCFM) was created in response
to faith-based entities’ need to train leaders, staff and volunteers in the areas of
Leadership, Financial, and Administrative Management. The Center offers individuals
an opportunity to sharpen skills and/or acquire new skills to enhance their abilities to
be effective leaders in a faith-based environment.

The program is an interdenominational continuing education component of the

Samuel D. Proctor, School of Theology, at Virginia Union University, Richmond,
VA. As such, the program is designed to meet the standards and requirements for
continuing education credits as established by their accrediting boards.

While ‘The Center’ uses the educational facilities of Mount Lebanon Church, ‘The
Center’ does not teach from any specific denominational perspectives. ‘The Center’
is sensitive to various denominational hierarchical governance structures and
incorporates them where applicable.

‘The Center’ offers both a structured plan of study leading to certification in a

particular discipline or the ability to take individual classes to meet your current
specific needs.

All classes are held in the new state of the art educational facilities of Mount
Lebanon, Chesapeake, VA. All computer classes are held in a computer lab where
participants will each have a computer for hands-on computer learning while the
instructor is teaching.

‘The Center’ receives numerous calls daily from pastors, churches, and other faith-
based non-profits seeking recommendations on individuals to fill financial and
administrative roles. Therefore, ‘The Center’ is committed to maintaining a database
of individuals who become certified to refer to the inquiring entity. This is a win-
win situation. The pastor, church, or other faith-based non-profit know that the
individual referred to them is capable of performing the job; and the individual is
connected to the job they would not otherwise know about.

“Got an opening for such a person?” ‘The Center’ will search their database of
certified candidates to assist in finding such a person. Give us a call @ 757-547-3388
or visit us on the web @ www.themountleads.org and click on The Center link.
