Performed rotordynamic related analyses to support engine programs in Boeing's f
leet. Verified/performed analysis of proposed vendor changes, and responsible f
or troubleshooting vibration & dynamic problems as required. Interfaced with FA
A as necessary. Interfaced with performance as necessary on engine issues. Per
formed reliability and probabilistic simulations. Directed team of engineers in
support of controller/structure simulation/modeling effort. Directed and manag
ed development of spindle test stand facility for Manufacturing Research & Devel
opment Dept. Interfaced with engine vendors as necessary on technical concerns,

Performed work as research assistant on rotordynamic systems vibration
control while pursuing Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.
Research was primarily sponsored by NASA Lewis Research Center. PhD research
incorporated probabilistic techniques to active vibration control (including mag
netic
bearings) and critical speed models. MS research added flexible casing effects
to active
vibration/damping models (cryogenic environment).

Summer positions in cooperation with AFRAPT appointment were spent
in the Advanced Engine Programs Group (Structures & Dynamics) evaluating
and analyzing new technology concepts for future application/production,
as well as investigation of vibration problems related to PW4000 series engines
and Advanced Ducted Prop powerplants. AFRAPT fellowship was co-sponsored
by Pratt & Whitney and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research.
