VuRoom will be installed successfully only if you let javaw.exe access Skype. Please make sure
there is no firewall blocking javaw.exe from accessing internet or Skype. To allow javaw.exe to
access Skype, Click on "Allow" when prompted during installation.
If you have denied the permissions, please follow the below steps to allow.
Click on Skype->Tools->Options
Click on "Advanced Options" tab
Click on "Manage other programs' access to Skype"
Click on "Change" for javaw.exe API
Click on "Allow this program to access Skype"
I use a proxy to connect to the Internet. How do I configure VuRoom to use this
proxy?
On Windows systems, VuRoom uses the proxy settings for Internet Explorer. Please configure
your proxy settings on Internet Explorer for VuRoom to work.
You can have up to 8 participants at a time. Technically, we don't place any limit on the number
of participants in VuRoom call. The number of videos you watch is based on your bandwidth.
Select participants from Skype contacts list by holding the 'Ctrl' key. Right click on any of
the selected participants and select 'Call the Group' to start the call.
No, your contacts need not subscribe to VuRoom to join the call. They can click on the link that
is received in their Skype chat to join the video conference. They don't have to install or
download anything to join the call.
The host can also invite participants who are not logged in to Skype. Anyone with a browser
and a telephone can participate in the conference.
If VuRoom is active, you will be able to see a VuRoom icon in the system tray. You are ready
to initiate a VuRoom call
If the VuRoom icon is red in color , it indicates that VuRoom is currently inactive. This may
be due to any one of the following:
No network connection - Please make sure that you are connected to the internet
Skype is inactive - Please make sure that you are logged into Skype
Skype id is either not registered or the subscription has expired
Once the three steps above are taken care of, the VuRoom icon should show an active state
(turn blue).
If the VuRoom icon is not present in the system tray, please follow the steps below to start
VuRoom application:
I did not get the pop-up, prompting VuRoom conference, when I made a call. What
do I do?
Please click on the VuRoom system tray icon and click on "Restart".
VuRoom updates automatically. To manually check for updates, click on VuRoom icon in your
system tray, and select 'Update'
Go to Control Panel
Click on "Programs and Features" for Vista/Windows 7 or "Add/Remove Programs" for
XP
Select "VuRoom" from the list
Click on "Uninstall" and follow the steps to uninstall

In order to fix the high CPU usage, we recommend disabling the audio enhancements. Please
follow the below steps:
If system is running in 'Power Saver' mode, please change it to 'High Performance' mode.

Video
Click on "SETUP"
Click on "Allow"
Click on "Remember"
Click on "Close"
Camera Settings:
Click on "next"
Click on "Change Camera" to set camera
Select the desired camera (USB Class video 2.0 for MAC inbuilt camera)
Click on "Close"
To focus on a particular video, click on the video in video console player. To revert back, click on
the video which is in focus currently.
Please check if your camera is setup. If you still don't see the preview, please close any other
applications using the camera. Now close all your browsers and restart the event.
These participants maybe experiencing poor network connection (low bandwidth). As a host,
you have the option to reduce your video bit-rate to enable viewing by low bandwidth
participants. To do this, please follow the steps below:
Click on the "PRIVACY" icon displayed right under the video. To continue with video streaming,
click on the "PRIVACY" icon again.
Click on the "VIDEO" icon displayed towards bottom left in the event page, to minimize the
video console. To revert back, i.e., display the video console, click on the "VIDEO" icon again.
Audio
Where can I set-up and control my audio devices (microphones and speakers) ?
Skype audio is being used, so all the audio devices need to be configured in Skype.
Slides
You can upload any presentation files (*.ppt, *.pptx), any image files (*.bmp, *.jpg, *.gif, *.png),
and flash files (*.swf).
Your slides window may have been minimized. Click on "SLIDES" icon which is in the bottom left
corner to display slides.
I can see the slides changing but participants say they cannot see the slides.
Please check if you have clicked on "START BROADCAST". If you are already broadcasting and
still the participants cannot see the slides, just click on "End Slideshow" and click again on the
slides.
They might have minimized the slides window. Please ask them to click on "SLIDES" icon.
Can I go back & forth between different powerpoint files without ending the
current slideshow?
Click on "Back" in the slides console and click on the other file which you want to share with
participants.
To take the control back, Click on "Change Presenter" and select "My self"
Group Chat
Click on the "Group" icon in bottom left corner. Type the message in the text input area and hit
enter. This message will be sent to all the people in the event.
Your group chat window may have been minimized. Click on the "Group" icon in bottom left
corner to display the window. To hide the window, click on it again.
How can I get the group chat window? I can only see a window for a particular
participant.

Click on "Group" icon to see Group chat window. To see the participant chat window, click on
participant name if you are another participant. If you are host, check "How do I engage in
private chat with a viewer".
No, you cannot delete messages from group chat. But you can block a person from sending
messages to group chat. Check "How to block trolls from group chat?"
To engage in private chat with a viewer, mouse over the viewer's profile picture and click on the
"CHAT" icon. A chat window with viewer's name will open up. Any messages entered in that
window will be sent to that viewer. To go back to group chat window, just click on "GROUP
CHAT" icon.
To block a user from posting messages to group chat, click on the user's name in the group chat
list and select "KICK". This will prevent the user from posting messages further.
Desktop Sharing
Click on "Desktop" icon in the bottom left corner. Next, click on "Yes" to start sharing the
desktop. Now you can either share your entire desktop or share a particular region of the
desktop by resizing and dragging the rectangle. To stop desktop sharing, click on the "Click here
to stop desktop sharing" message on the bottom right side and click on "Yes" to stop sharing
the desktop.
Your desktop window may have been minimized. Click on "Desktop" icon on bottom left corner
to display the shared desktop.
