PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CHRYSLER - CONTRACTOR, Auburn Hills, Michigan * 1997-2010
Industrial Engineering Specialist (2008-2010)
Chrysler Technical Center, Stamping & Assembly Division
Led and implemented new processes, methods, and procedures to the production flo
or, covering engine, chassis, and trim shop areas, based on Lean Manufacturing,
WCM, Kaizen, MODAPTS, direct and indirect labor time and motion studies. Identif
ied and capitalized on opportunities to drive optimization in workstation operat
ion, waste elimination, AMPS, process engineering and quality validation, Poka Y
oke, TPS, FPS, and COS. Applied engineering expertise and troubleshooting abilit
ies to the analysis and identification of critical manufacturing process defects
. Provided WCM training to Team Leaders and Assembly Technicians.
Specific Highlights:
* Streamlined material stock and cut 8 positions by rebalancing the chassis and
engine lines.
* Instituted controls over manpower, cycle time, open time, productivity, and ut
ilization using Process Books components such as Automated Manufacturing Plannin
g Systems (AMPS).
* Handled workforce planning for the entire Stamping & Assembly Division, alloca
ting labor costs into direct, variable, and indirect categories.
* Helped determine calculation methods for key performance indicators such as ho
urs per vehicle (HPV), parts per labor hour (PPLH), and average die change time
(ADCT).
* Key contributor to CORE on the conceptualization of Jeep 2011 project proposal
s and workforce planning for the 2009-2011 XK, WK, and WD Jeep models.
Modernization Project Manager / Production Engineer (1997-2008)
Chrysler Sterling Stamping Plant
Oversaw projects and initiatives related to production scheduling, equipment, re
covery plans, and resource allocation in the press room, blanking lines, progres
sive lines, ASRS blank and die storage systems. Monitored operations and deploye
d continuous improvements to blank storage, die storage systems, and maintenance
schedules. Assembled teams of engineers, plant workers, and contract employees.
Negotiated equipment purchases, maintained regulatory compliance, and managed e
mployee performance and morale.
Project Highlights - $51 million DaimlerChrysler, German-American Power Train In
tegration:
* Upgraded the plant with 180" Schuler Crossbar Transfer Presses, a DCT Automati
on Destacker and Blank Washing System, and an ABB Olofstrom Automation Exit Conv
eyor Transfer System.

CHRYSLER Continued...
Project Highlights - $200 million, 100,000 Square Foot Plant Addition:
* Introduced 3 Blanking Lines (AFCO), including 2 72" Blanking Lines and "Soft P
iling" Stacking Systems with 204" and 148" Verson 108 ton presses and Orchid Int
ernational ASRS Retrieval and Die Storage Systems, and 1 Cut-to-Length with Orch
id International ASRS Retrieval Storage Systems.
* Installed 3 Progressive lines (AFCO), including a 72" wide Coil Line with 1500
Ton Verson press and 2 72" wide Coil Lines with 800 Ton Verson Presses.
Project Highlights - Other:
* Pioneered the use of AGV / SGV systems in WK / XK Hood and BSA Sub-Assembly ce
lls.
* Curtailed indirect labor costs by managing purchased blank handling systems fo
r key product lines.
* Simplified an installation process by replacing individual pneumatic Ross pres
s control components with 1 compound control unit
* Propelled efficiencies using $1+ million in perishable tooling.
DCT AUTOMATION / BOND ROBOTICS, Warren, Michigan * 1990-1997
Senior Electrical Controls Engineer
Project managed initiatives relating to press automation systems, including Stac
ker, Destacker, and Wash. Directed project planning and implementation, developi
ng the schedule, team, and budget, and overseeing each phase of the project. Sup
ervised product research, design, specifications, and testing. Managed a team of
10 product development and engineering personnel.
Specific Highlights:
* Evaluated product plans against engineering, company, and customer specificati
ons and standards.
* Bolstered production quality by creating innovative process and packaging cont
rol systems.
