Selected Achievements:
* Managed several multi-million dollar construction projects which entailed comp
lete budget management, schedule maintenance, and construction administration fu
nctions. These projects included a New Elementary School ($18.7 million), a rem
odeling of an Administrative Facility ($3 million), and a Middle School Remodel
/ Addition ($15.8 million). As a result of my performance on these projects - I
was promoted to Department Manager.
* Collaborated on the Design of a technology infrastructure system for a large u
rban school district (voice/data/media retrieval) that is cost affective, scalab
le, and user friendly. As a result the district has installed a system that can
be easily expanded as funding and needs dictate. Use of the system allows for
the integration of new technologies as well (i.e. - "SmartBoards").
* Implemented a web-based training program for OSHA required employee right-to-k
now training to ensure compliance in a cost effective manner. As a result of th
is program, the District now has better access, better record keeping, and bette
r training for the more than 2,000 custodial, trades, and special education staf
f.
* Directed the implementation of a site-specific Facilities Condition Assessment
for a large urban school district that identifies facilities deficiencies as me
asured against desired standards. As a result of this study, the District can u
se this data to inform planning initiatives for its capital improvement program.
* Conceived and Developed an Energy Efficiency / Sustainability program for a la
rge urban school district. This program coordinated and integrated facilities m
odifications, energy management system (EMS), and training and behavioral modifi
cations through a web site, news letter, and videos. As a result the district h
as realized millions of dollars in cost avoidance, and has reduced its carbon fo
otprint.
* Elected Regional Governor for the Council of Educational Facilities Planners I
nternational - 2009.
