Manager, Connect and Develop (C+D) Global Oral Care (2008 - Present)
Identified technology need gaps in the global oral care business and
recommended robust upstream or immediate commercial opportunities
based on good science and likelihood of rational licensing approaches.
Recommended C+D opportunities for inclusion to marketing portfolio
through a P&G initiated Front End Innovation (FEI) process. Played a
key role in achieving the best in class knowledge of ongoing trends in
oral care research as well as developed strategies and management
concurrence on how to leverage the connections to deliver improved
productivity and increased net outside sales (NOS).
* Secured Vice President and organizational approval for a global
oral care C+D technology evaluation strategy in 3 months.
* Recommended a new approach for significantly minimizing cost by
over $1M for Oral Care Analytical by leveraging P&Gs Global
Corporate C+D capability connections.
* Participated in the scientific due diligence associated with
identifying an external partner with a promising new technology
for gingivitis and oral wound healing, which gained approval for
funding to run an experimental gingivitis trial in India at 40%
below cost than in the US.

South Asia (2007 - 2008)
Identified top BioScience related technology needs for multiple
business units including health care, beauty care, family care, and
household care. Cultivated enduring relationships with biotechnology
partners in the public/private sectors in India and South Asia.
Collaborated with in-country P&G connections in Bangalore and
determined optimal bioscience related technical opportunities for

External Relations Manager, Personal Health Care (2004 - 2007)
Composed press releases and responses to media inquiries for 3 P&G
Personal health care brands, PUR, Vicks, and ThermaCare. Provided
strategic direction for marketing communications on ThermaCare, Vicks,
PUR. Handled media crisis on Vicks and ThermCare. Formulated annual PR
strategies for Vicks and Thermacare with leading PR agencies. Managed
public relations agency relationships and budgets totaling over $1M.
Identified and capitalized on Connect and Develop opportunities for
personal health care brands.
* Directed the successful acquisition of the American Dental
Association Seal of Approval for the PUR filter brand through a
Connect and Develop effort with Oral Care Professional, which was
self initiated through recognition of a change in trend in the
external environment. The ADA seal was approved for all the
existing PUR filters and would be a significant competitive
advantage versus competition, Brita. This effort was completed in
a record 8 weeks, a P&G first and highly acclaimed by P&G
corporate management.
* Engaged the Thermacare Brand for a Connect and Develop opportunity
with P&G Pharmaceuticals through leveraging the relationship with
the Arthritis Foundation, which resulted in the development of
appropriate consumer related awareness programs in anticipation of
a new arthritis sku launch in 2007.
* Spearheaded and executed a public relations plan with an agency
for Dayquil Sinus and Nyquil Sinus, which utilized Serena
Williams, received high praise by the Vicks marketing group, and
generated over 35M media impressions.
* Secured alignment from the ThermaCare Brand and managed the budget
to develop a ThermaCare Clinical Compendium, which was the first
ever done in the brand's 4-year history since launch. This secured
up to 8 placements in key publications including Prevention,
Health, Red Book, Consumer Reports, and Men's Health as well as
generated over 20M impressions.
Senior Project Manager, Professional and Scientific Relations (1999 -
2004)
Serve as project manager for 10 regional osteoporosis boards across
the United States and strategize dissemination of Phase III-IIIb and
Phase 4 clinical information to paid consultants prior to and after
the launch of a new anti-resorptive osteoporosis medication.
Formulated the strategy for scientific education programs (CMEs or
non-CME) for physician education in osteoporosis. Maintained
accountability for the $780M annual budget. Created a bi-monthly work
process to report progress of the board projects to cross-functional
upper management.
* Developed the strategy for clinical data dissemination as well as
wrote and managed the poster presentations of the regional
osteoporosis board projects in joint regional osteoporosis board
meetings in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002.
* Established a process to simplify the flow of scientific
information to the field scientific managers and health science
advisors, which included emphasis on regulatory guidelines between
the differences of scientific exchange and promotion.
* Conceptualized and spearheaded the collaborative effort with P&G
Canada, UK, France, and Germany to identify cross-fertilization
opportunities of TL development strategies for an anti-resorptive
medication for osteoporosis in the US and across geographies,
which included gaining management buy-in to allocate $150,000 to
run a pilot test called Quality Circles to test physicians
practice behavior towards osteoporosis patients.
