Startup CD
The Startup CD shipped with the CP includes a complete manual describing the
Internet functions of this CP. You will also find the manual for the IT-CP and other
SIMATIC NET documentation on the CD in the form of PDF files.
Safety Guidelines
This manual contains notices which you should observe to ensure your own personal
safety, as well as to protect the product and connected equipment. These notices are
highlighted in the manual by a warning triangle and are marked as follows according to
the level of danger:

Design
The module was designed to match the components of the S7-400 programmable
logic controller and has the following features:
S Single-width module for simple installation in the S7-400 rack.
S Can be used in central or expansion racks.
S The operator controls and displays are all located on the front panel.
S No fan necessary.
S 15-pin sub D female connector with sliding locking mechanism for attaching the CP
443-1 IT to Industrial Ethernet (automatic switchover between the AUI interface and
Twisted Pair interface when the AUI or ITP cable is plugged in).
1.1 Characteristics
Services
The CP 443-1 IT supports the following communication services:
S S7 communication with
– PG functions
– Operator control and monitoring functions
– Data exchange using communication function blocks (CFBs)
S SIMATIC communication with
– SEND/RECEIVE interface via TCP and UDP (S5-compatible communication)
– Real-time synchronization via Industrial Ethernet
S IT Functions
– Sending E-mail
– Monitoring device and process data (HTML process control)
– FTP functions (File Transfer Protocol) for file management
Requirements
To operate the CP 443-1 TCP, you require S7-400 CPUs in the PLC. Refer to the
following table for the versions of the CPUs.
Table 1
Table 2
Function Requirement
Transfer of data fields <= 240 bytes S You require the blocks AG_SEND FC5 and AG_RECV
FC6 or alternatively the blocks AG_LSEND FC50 and
AG_ LRECV FC60.
S The blocks AG_SEND and AG_RECV are shipped with
NCM IE version V 2.0 or higher. The blocks AG_LSEND
and AG_LRECV are shipped with NCM IE version V 4.02
or higher.
Transfer of data fields > 240 bytes S You require the blocks AG_LSEND FC50 and AG_LRECV
FC60. These blocks are shipped with NCM version V 4.02.
S The blocks AG_LSEND and AG_LRECV are also available
on the Internet (http://www.ad.siemens.de/
support/html1_00/support.shtml).
S7 Communication
The functions and characteristics of S7 communication are described in /2/ and /4/.
Note the following restriction:
Table 3
SEND/RECEIVE
SEND/RECEIVE can be operated both with TCP (ISO-on-TCP connections) and UDP
(UPD connections). The following information is important:
Table 4
Optimization criteria:
The data length affects the performance; multiples
of 200 bytes are the important factor.
Example:
400 bytes are more efficient than 401 bytes,
401 bytes are identical to 600 bytes.
Restrictions for UPD S Data transfer on Industrial Ethernet is
unconfirmed, in other words the loss of messages
is not detected or displayed by the send blocks
(AG_SEND or AG_LSEND).
S The maximum length of the data fields is 2048
bytes.
S 10 simultaneous jobs with data lengths > 240
bytes are permitted per CPU.
1.3 IT Functions
The CP 443-1 IT provides additional information technology functions (IT). The Startup
CD includes comprehensive instructions on these functions as well as the manual for
the IT-CP in the form of a PDF file.
1.3.1 E-Mail
To allow access with a web browser, the IT-CP provides you with the functions of a
web server.
To implement this, the IT-CP has an additonal memory area for storing files. This area
is used to store HTML pages and S7 applets.
HTML pages are used to transfer and display information in a web browser. S7 applets
are Java applets tailored to SIMATIC S7 that allow write or read access to the S7
CPU.
When shipped, the CP 443-1 IT has HTML system pages, S7 applets, template files,
and further infomation in its file system.
If you access the CP using the FTP tool (File Transfer Protocol) shipped with Startup,
the file system on your CP 443-1 IT appears as follows:
Tip:
The Readme.htm file contains information on the file system!
Figure 2
Note
If you operate NCM S7 Diagnostics via the Industrial Ethernet attachment of the CP
443–1 IT, the S7 applets ’S7IdentApplet ’(identifies the S7 modules) or ’S7StatusAp-
plet’ (displays the status of S7 modules) cannot be used at the same time on the same
CP.
Please note also that these applets can also only be used when a PG connection
between the CPU and CP is free. The maximum number of available PG connections
depends on the particular CPU type.
Note
Data exchange for productive communication (S7 connections, ISO-on-TCP connecti-
ons, UDP connections) always has higher priority than data exchange with the web
browser. This can cause delays in HTML process control in the web browser.
Note
If FTP access fails, this may be caused by temporary lack of resources on the IT-CP.
Tips for avoiding the problem:
Reduce the number of started FTP actions, for example by reducing the number of
files selected for transfer.
If you use a batch file for the FTP access, reduce the number of accesses in the batch
file or include waiting times of approximately 1 second in the file.
Warning
! If you start the “Save filesystem to flash eprom” function, you may find that connec-
tions are sporadically aborted (affects all connection types).
Note
Closing the web browser when there is no IT-CP connection:
If an S7 applet contained in a loaded HTML page does not have a connection to the
IT-CP, this represents an applet error state. If you close the web browser in this situa-
tion, the browser process remains started in Windows 95/NT although the process
wndow is closed and the process no longer appears in the taskbar!
Tip: You can check which processes are started in the process list of the operating
system and end the process if required.
LED Displays
The LED panel on the front of the CP 443-1 IT has four display elements:

Mode Selector
With the mode selector, you can set the following modes:
S Switch from STOP to RUN:
In the RUN mode, all communication services are available.
The CP modes can only be controlled using NCM S7 when the selector is set to
RUN.
S Switch from RUN to STOP:
The CP changes to the STOP mode (all connections are terminated).
In the STOP mode, only the configuration and diagnostic functions are available on
the CP 443-1TCP.
Note
Read the sections in the NCM S7 for Industrial Ethernet manual /2/ about downloading
configuration data to the CP.
The accessories required to attach the CP 443-1 IT to an Industrial Ethernet LAN must
be ordered separately. For more detailed information, see /3/, /4/, /5/.
If you want an initial test run, you can order a point-to-point cable free of charge with
which you can connect the CP 443-1 IT (15-pin sub D) and a PC (RJ-45 connector)
directly!

2.2 Procedure
Steps in Installation
Installing the CP 443-1 IT involves the following steps.
S Plugging in the CP 443-1 IT
The CP 443-1TCP can be plugged into all racks with slots for P and K bus
attachment. The following racks are suitable:
– Central rack CR2
– Universal rack UR1 or UR2
as the central
or expansion rack
Note
The CP 443-1TCP can also be inserted or removed while the power supply is on.
Configuration
To initialize the CP for communication services, use the configuration tool NCM S7 for
Industrial Ethernet.
PG/PC Connection
You can connect the PG when configuring the CP as follows:
S via MPI
S via Industrial Ethernet
Before you can configure via Industrial Ethernet, the CP 443-1 IT must first be
supplied with the MAC address, the IP address, the subnet mask and the default
router address (for more detailed information about node initialization, refer to /2/).
The PG/PC requires a LAN attachment, for example via a CP 1413 or CP 1411 and
must have the necessary software (for example the S7 1413 package or SOFTNET
IE). The TCP/IP protocol must be installed and set to S7 online.
