Installing Your EPSON® Ink Jet Printer Driver in

Windows® 2000
Before You Begin:
• Read through these instructions and, if possible, print a copy so you have it with you as you install the software.
• These instructions assume you have a “clean” installation of Microsoft® Windows 2000, not an upgrade. If your
Windows 2000 installation is an upgrade, the printer driver and Status Monitor may not install correctly.
• Close any applications and windows before you begin the installation.
• You must install the EPSON printer driver before you connect the printer to your computer. If you connect the
printer first, Windows 2000 automatically installs the Windows 2000 operating system provided driver.
• If your printer has both USB and parallel ports, EPSON recommends connecting your printer via the USB port
for optimum print speeds. If your printer does not have a USB port, a USB Adapter Cable may be available. You
can purchase the cable from EPSON Accessories at (800) 873-7766 or visit our website at
www.epsonsupplies.com (U.S. sales only). In Canada, please call (800) 873-7766 for dealer referral.

completed.
• If you see a screen similar to the following, contact your System Administrator.

• If at any time during the installation, you see a screen similar to the following, click Yes to continue with the
installation.

• If you connected your printer via the parallel port and want to use the USB port instead (or vice versa), you must
uninstall the printer driver and then reinstall it following the instructions above.
• To uninstall the driver, go to My Computer > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Click EPSON
Printer Software, then click Change/Remove. Make sure your printer name is selected, then click OK.
