MTPL OPERATIONS GUIDE

IPL PROCEDURE
MTPL MAINFRAME

Procedure to bring up MP3000 server

1. Switch on A/C - maintain temperature at 24 degrees

2. Switch on power for system - wait for a few minutes.

3. Switch on monitor.

4. Switch on system.

5. OS/2 will come up.

Wait till Support Element Logon window is displayed.

User Identification: *******
Password : *******

Click Log on in Support Element Workplace window

6. Double click Activate on Daily menu on the right side of screen

Activate Task confirmation window will open, click Yes
Wait for a few minutes till Activate Programs is over. Click OK

7. Minimize Support Element Workplace screen.

8. Double Click Emulator Sessions icon.

Two sessions will be opened.
a. A-System Operator (Console).
b. B-Local Sessions (TSO session).
Minimize both sessions.

9. Double click Support element icon P0010D62

10. Double click IMAGES icon

11. Select LPAR P390 icon by single click

12. Double click Load icon on CPC Recovery menu on right side of screen.
Enter values for a) Load address:
b) Load parameter:
Values are: 0300 and 0302CSM for cold start.
: 0300 and 0302AWM for warm start.
Click OK
Click Yes on Load Confirmation window
 Click OK after completion after Load Progress is completed.

13. Double click A-System Operator icon to view IPL process.

14. Double click B-Local Session and logon.

Shutdown server

1. Logoff from all userids

2. Issue START SHUTDOWN command from SDSF command line.

3. Open Console

4. Issue D A,L to list all active jobs.

5. Issue $P JES2 when all other jobs have ended

6. Issue Z EOD

7. Double Click Deactivate icon on Daily menu (right side of screen).

8. Click Yes on Deactivate Task Confirmation window.

Click OK on Deactivate Progress window after Completion..

9. Close Support Element Workplace window.

10. Close A-System Operator and B-Local session.

11. Click Shutdown Console from Support Element Logon screen.

12. Click Yes on Cancel Confirmation window.

13. Right click on OS/2 desktop screen.

14. Click Shut down on desktop window.

15. Click OK on Desktop window.

16. Click Yes on EMIO Channel DO NOT CLOSE window

17. Switch off server and monitor.

18. Switch off power supply and A/C.

IPL PROCEDURE for Flexes Mainframe Emulator with UNIX as base o/s.
OPTION 1 (ONLY IPL z/OS without shutting UNIX)
FROM DOS SESSION:

telnet 68.236.157.51
ID: flexes
PW: abcdef1
Type: machcon1

ACQUIRING THE ALTERNATE CONSOLE IS OPTIONAL AS THE MASTER CONSOLE

WILL REMAIN ON THE SERVER.
Go to Emulator Session and connect to IP: 68.236.157.51
Type X in Front of CONS701
(Again, 701 is an alternate console. This would be just to see the IPL Messages...NOT
REQUIRED)

Go Back to Flex Session and type:

IPL A80 0A82AW
Exit from the Flexes session and exit from UNIX by typing EXIT twice.
You should see messages on the Console.

OPTION 2 (REBOOT THE WHOLE SERVER-SHOULD BE DONE IN EMERGENCY

SITUATION)

FROM DOS SESSION:

TELNET IP: 68.236.157.51
ID: flexes
PW: maintec001
LOGON AS SUPERVISOR
TYPE: SU
PW: abcdef1

Init 6
Exit and wait 5 Minutes

TELNET IP: 68.236.157.51

ID:flexes
PW:abcdef1

Type: iml1

Type: MACHCON1
Go to Emulator Session and connect to IP: 68.236.157.51
Type X in Front of CONS1
Go Back to Flexes Session and type IPL 0a80 0a82aw
Exit from the Flexes session and exit from UNIX by Typing Exit twice.
You should see messages on the Console.
SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE
Send message to all users - 'Please LOGOFF - The system will be IPL ed in 2 minutes!!'
Don't allow any user to logon.
Issue the following Commands
P TSO
F CICSA,CEMT P SHUT I
@STOP DB2
C INETD4
F BPXOINIT,shutdown=forkinit
P Lla
C httpd1
P TCPIP
P sdsf
Z net,quick
P zfs
$P JES2
Confirm everything is brought down
Z EOD - to halt the system End Of Day.
