KIZ Tax Credits

This program is for early-stage KIZ Companies and awards tax credits based on the company’s annual. The program also
provides for the assignment or sale of the credits, offering much needed capital to enhance the growth of their businesses.

Industry: Technology-based and entrepreneurial. Companies must be located in the Zone,


less than 8 years in operation, and in the industry sector identified by the KIZ.

History: Launched in Spring 2004 as part of the Economic Stimulus Program

Type of Assistance: Credit on PA state taxes equal to 50% of increase in gross revenues in the
preceding two years. Limit of $100,000 annually. Tradability option.

R&D Tax Credit Program

to convert R&D Tax Credits into cash by selling and assigning those credits to companies or
