- 16 UNFCCC Documents Questionnaire The UNFCCC secretariat has launched a review of its official documents in order to enhance their readability and user-friendliness. As part of this review, the secretariat has prepared a brief questionnaire, which is distributed with todays Daily Programme, to gather the views of the readers of the documents. We believe that these insights will be extremely valuable in understanding how these documents could be improved and would be grateful if as many delegates as possible could complete the questionnaire and return it to the Documents Distribution counter. Please be assured that all responses will be kept confidential. The UNFCCC secretariat is looking to improve the functionality and information organization of the unfccc.int website. As part of this effort, the secretariat is carrying out an online website survey. We would appreciate if you could take a few minutes to provide your input, as website users and/or as participants in the UNFCCC climate change process, which will give valuable insights into potential improvements. We would be grateful if as many participants as possible could complete the online survey which can be accessed at <http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/G82Q538>. Please be assured that all responses will remain confidential. Conference participants are encouraged to bring to the attention of qualified individuals in their countries/organizations the link to the employment page of the secretariat website: <http://unfccc.int/secretariat/employment/recruitment> Three professional positions are currently advertised. A number of further vacancies ranging from entry level to management level are expected to be advertised during the remaining months of 2011. The secretariat is committed to ensuring equitable geographical distribution and gender balance among its staff. To this end, it would like to especially encourage qualified women candidates and candidates from developing countries to apply for vacancies. The UNFCCC has recently launched an online roster of consultants to be considered for future assignments. The UNFCCC consultant roster is an online database of specialized consultants used for sourcing expertise for short- and long-term assignments with our secretariat. Potential consultants can now register directly online via the new roster: <http://unfccc.int/secretariat/employment/consultancy>

- 18 Virtual participation VIRTUAL_PARTICIPATION@UNFCCC, 68 June. Foyer, Hotel Maritim All participants of the Bonn SBs are invited to a special 3 day exhibit that seeks to showcase how participation in the sessions and activities of the UNFCCC process may be enhanced through information and communications technology solutions (ICTs). The exhibit located in the Foyer of the Hotel Maritim provides participants with the latest information on a range of products produced by leading ICT companies that can be considered at national and international levels. Some of these technologies are already being used by some Parties, observers and the secretariat to connect remotely through telephone and video conference calls, while other technology offers additional features that may be considered in the future. The applicability and use of such technologies in developing countries is addressed in this exhibit. The VIRTUAL_PARTICIPATION@UNFCCC exhibit has been arranged by the secretariat with the kind support of the observer organization TechAmerica Europe. TechAmerica Europe seeks to show how ICTs can support action on climate change by providing technology for enabling mitigation and adaptation-related activities, as well as collaboration and knowledge sharing. It contributed to the Danish/secretariat ICT@COP15 exhibit in 2009.
