Monday, Sept. 15: Dinner & Homework Discussion
6 p.m.: Carpool to Dinner Hotel Lobby
Please plan to arrive at the hotel by 5 p.m. and be ready to meet in the lobby
by 6 p.m.

6:30 – 8:30 p.m.: Dinner Monica’s Aca Y Alla (2914 Main St.,
Deep Ellum)
Dinner and an informal discussion about the homework assignment.
Distribute Groundswell.
Led by Tod Marvin and Connie Reece.

Tuesday, Sept. 16: Riding the Groundswell


7 a.m.: Breakfast Library Bar

8:30 a.m.: Welcome & Introductions Tod; Ballroom

8:45 a.m: Message from Midge Midge LaPorte Epstein, EVP; Ballroom

9 a.m.: Intro into Social Networks Connie Reece, Consultant; Ballroom


Group Exercise: Each table will split into two groups for a fun, collaborative
project.
Connie Reece specializes in developing marketing and communications
programs that use Web 2.0 tools and technologies. Her engaging personality and
interactive presentation style result in enjoyable, effective meetings as she shows
how social media integrates with traditional marketing and PR; how social
networks can be used internally, to open up corporate culture; and externally, to
cultivate clients and increase visibility online

10 a.m: Break

10:15 a.m. Laying the Foundation: The Conversation PrismConnie Reece; Ballroom
Panel discussion about various aspects of Social Media/Networks

11:15 a.m.: Morning Recap, Introductions & Lunch Tod; Ballroom & Library Bar

11:45 a.m.: Luncheon keynote: Eileen Smith, Blog Editor, Texas Monthly
Eileen Smith (Pink Lady) is a former AHA employee and is now the Editor of
the successful and irreverent political blog, In the Pink Texas. Her work on In the
Pink won her fans and admiration, and a full-time job: she’s also editor of
texasmonthly.com.

Wednesday, Sept. 17: Social Media in Action & Mini Team Meetings
7 a.m.: Breakfast Library Bar

8 a.m.: Welcome Tod; Ballroom

Don’t be late, as Tod will announce the SCA Social Media Challenge. Find
out how Social Media could but an extra $250 in your pocket.

8:15-9:45 a.m.: Breakout Session HIT VPs; Ballroom, Oak Lawn, Terrace,
Cedar Springs

The team will breakout into department groups to brainstorm local Social
Media strategies including deadlines and deliverables.

9:45-10 a.m.: Report Out HIT VPs; Ballroom


Each team will report the top 1-3 ideas they plan to execute for the Social
Media Challenge

10 a.m.: Break
Use this time to check email and/or check out of the hotel.

10:30 a.m.: Mini Team Meetings HIT VPs; Ballroom, Oak Lawn, Terrace, Cedar
Springs
VPs will lead their teams in a mini meeting to discuss issues affecting their
teams.

Noon: Lunch, It’s a Wrap Tod; Ballroom
Tod will review the information discussed during the various sessions and
discuss expectations for implementation.
