Jessica Alba ad to urge Americans to vote
Jessica Alba has posed for a new bondage-themed billboard advert to urge
Americans to vote in the forthcoming presidential election. The actress

but with Kreedom) Poi Solla Porum, which
is a Hindi remake of Khosla Ka Ghosla, should not
be a disappointment if you are looking for a clean
and fun family entertainer. In fact, the initial credits
of the film give due credit to the Hindi film where it
is adapted from. It is not one of those laugh riots
that will make you fall off your seat; it’s engaging
and is sure to keep you hooked till the very end.
Satyanadhan (Nedumudi Venu), a retired em-
ployee, is making big plans to build a new house
according to the likes of his three children. Uppili
(Karthik Kumar), the eldest and a computer engi-
neer, has no time for all the nitty-gritty details his
father asks him. Rather, he is more interested in
getting his visa done and leave to the U.S. on work.
Nedumudi Venu’s enthusiasm is short-lived and he
realises that he has been duped in the land deal by
Baby (Nasser). An initially reluctant Uppili puts his
plans on hold to help his father get his land back.
From this point the film picks pace, with his chil-
dren, Uppili’s girlfriend Amritha (Preethi), and her
theatre troupe deciding to play a plot on Baby and
his men.
Karthik comes up trumps in the movie, as prob-
ably for the first time he gets a major role to play.
Nasser and Nedumudi Venu, no doubt, do a good
job. Arvind Krishna does a good job capturing those
locations in the suburbs well with his camera. ■

Hollywood’s Most
Overpaid Actor
Nicole Kidman is
Hollywood’s most overpaid
actor, according to a new
survey by Forbes magazine.
Kidman’s films were estimated to only earn
1 dollar for every dollar the Oscar-winning
actress was paid compared with 8 dollars a
year ago.
The Invasion, a remake of the 1956 classic
Invasion of the Body Snatchers, even lost
2.68 dollar for every dollar earned by
Kidman who was reportedly paid 17 million
dollars for her role.
Second in the list came Jennifer Garner,
whose movies, including The Kingdom and
Catch and Release, have underperformed at
the box office. Kidman’s ex-husband, Tom
Cruise, came third in the list with a 4-dollar
return for every dollar he was paid, mostly
because of the failure of last year’s movie
Lions for Lambs. Fourth and fifth were
Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez
respectively.
