Knowledge & Learning Team Charter Our goal is to reduce barriers to user adoption as it relates to learning our products, thus making them more accessible in nature. Our aim is to get users up-and-running faster and easier, with the basics of how to get started using our products. We do this by integrating learning solutions alongside our products, in the form of interactive eLearning tutorials.
Just show me, give me an example and let me get on with it.
learning is a social activity because learners acquire information from their social networks as much if not more than from formal experts (social information processing).
Benefits
Sales: Allows customers to experience the product and workflows involved, creates a more informed decision-making process during the sales experience. Support: Creates a first line of support to improve the customer experience when looking for basic help to use the product, also leads to reduced support calls by providing help in more consumable format than standard documentation. Customer Experience: Empowers users to get started quickly and easily, maximizing the effectiveness of achieving in their BI requirements. Competitive and industry standard practices: Meet the commonly held expectation and general industry standard that users receive online help to get started using any piece of software (examples: Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe). Many studies have revealed the fact that as few as 10-15% of ERP implementation have a smooth introduction that delivers the anticipated benefits. The remaining firms either experience teething problems or a significant shortfall in delivered benefits, and the difference between the successful 10-15% and the rest is better training.
Alex Leon, ERP Demystified (Second Edition), 2008
Most research on retention suggests nearly 30% loss of [IT] skill annually for skills that are not routinely reinforced.
Cushing Anderson, IDC, The Silent Killer, Knowledge Leakage and the Impact on Technical Skills, IDC, 2006

There is a simple conclusion from all this: Training is not a necessary evil. It is a Key Business Process.
