F R O M T H E PA S T O R
Dear Church Family, Greetings to you in the name of our Christ! Thank you for your faithfulness in supporting the ministries of our great church. Because of you, many lives are changed and the love of Jesus Christ is shared with this community and around the world. Through your support, we have sent a team of young adults to Slidell, LA, and a Senior High team to Little Rock, AR. Several more important life-changing ministries are planned for this summer. As this paper is being published, we are in the midst of Vacation Bible School, an opportunity we have to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with our children and the children of this community. In July we are sending a Junior High team to Killeen, TX. In the fall, we have an adult mission team going to Haiti and one going to Guatemala. Trudy Smith and her team have been busy planning many wonderful events with for our children. Please see page 8 for more information. Clint Church and his team have been on mission trips and are planning a wonderful week for our students coming up in the month of July. We are in the midst of planning our Fall Schedule. Please watch upcoming newsletters for more details. Aledo United Methodist Church is an exciting place to be! My family and I are so grateful to be a part of such an exciting and loving faith community. Aledo United Methodist Church reminds me of what Paul said to the church in Thessalonica: We were glad to share not only Gods good news with you but also our very lives because we cared for you so much (1 Thessalonians 2:8 CEB). We are a community of faith who loves to share Gods good news as we share our lives with one another because we care for one another! Thank you for welcoming Marla, Andrew, Ella and me during our first year in ministry with you as we look forward to the future that God gives to each of us and to Gods church. May the Lord bless you and keep you,

Our Church Home

Questions
the

Summertime stress slowing you down?

We like to think of summer as being a relaxing, enjoyable time. But hurts, struggles, crises, and problems dont take a vacation. Many times our difficulties seem even worse during the summer because everyone else seems to be enjoying life while you are feeling down. If you are experiencing a difficult timeemotionally, spiritually, or relationallyyou dont have to suffer alone. Our Stephen Ministers are trained caregivers, ready to listen, care for and encourage you, pray with and for you, and provide one-to-one Christian care to help you through whatever it is that you are facing. Men are matched with male Stephen Ministers, and women are matched with female Stephen Ministers. Its free. Its confidential. And it will make a difference in your life! To find out more about Stephen Ministry for you or someone you know, talk with Pastor DeAndrea in the church office at 817.441.8329 or DeAndreaDare@aledoumc.org.

Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo Monday, July 25, 6:30 in the Parlor
Heaven is for Real is the true story of the four-year-old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didnt know what to believe, but soon the evidence was clear. Please sign up in the narthex. Books are available for purchase in the church office.
